2013 Preseason and regular polls

Spit out my drink when I heard him say that. It almost, kinda sorta sounded like these fools might actually be starting to give the Buckeyes a little credit!
<looks out window to look for rare planetary alignment >

I didn't get the feeling he was giving Ohio State any credit. He qualified all his statements the same way as when he was talking about NIU.
And even went so far as to say that Auburn and Missouri would be more deserving; but just wouldn't be able to keep us out.
I get the impression this is ESPiN going "OK, we give up for now... there's nobody we can legitimately campaign for this week. But we'll at least plant the seeds for Auburn and check back next week."
Guarantee, if Auburn does beat Alabama... they will go right back into campaign mode.

I just want to get something out there now. The staff is recruiting like a perennial power house and Urb is doing a masterful job of keeping the players focused. I dint see any reason to think either factor changing anytime soon. The talking heads are riding a long cycle of Buckeye bashing but we might just be witnessing the tide turning. Just win and they have no choice but to shut up. Win big against quality teams and they really have nothing to say. If we smash Sparty in the mouth it will be interesting to hear the talk. Do that and follow it up with a similar performance in our bowl game and I will have no problem calling an end to the bashing cycle. Behind closed doors I bet Urb is getting a lot of mileage out of the "no one respects us" bit. The team is certainly playing with a chip on its shoulder. I live it actually. Keep improving and keep winning. Tune everything else out.

I'm just gonna go ahead and put this out there. You seem to think ESPN's opinion of tOSU is based on reality. It's not. It's basrd on billions of dollars. The only thing that will change their narrative is ESPN buying first tier rights in 2016 (or whatever year they expire).

I disagree. They don't have exclusive rights to the PAC 12 yet they are treated fairly. I think they are ready to come around to the Buckeyes. Just keep winning.

"Ohio State is safe at #3 and doesn't have to worry about anyone jumping them" - ESPiN

What ? I don't believe it.
They can't be folding already... I mean... having 1-loss didn't stop them campaigning for Stanford...

Ahahaha! Somebody claiming Clemson is the best 1-loss team.
I like the guy making excuses for South Carolina for missing their starting QB against Missouri... who was also missing their starting QB?
BTW why isn't MSU in this discussion? If Auburn is "supposed to be a 2-loss team", Clemson got blown out, and Missouri lost to a mediocre SC ... why isn't a 4-point loss to an 8-4** Notre Dame a disqualifier?

**current 8-3, but I don't think Notre Dame can play Stanford Football™ as well as Utah or USC

I think this is the first time I will be rooting for an SEC team (SC) to take down an OOC team (Clemson). Clemson loosing takes shots at FSUs SOS.

It's personal with the B1G. The Pac didn't tell them to eabod and start their own network after a lowball offer didn't work out like they planned. Don't bother replying tho. I know where you stand on the matter and now you know what I think. Can't imagine either of us changing our minds

Wanna feel sick? Check out the Colley computer rankings website....specifically, the part where you can fix the Wisconsin/Arizona State game:

http://www.colleyrankings.com/playgod.html

Add Wisconsin beating Arizona State
Remove Arizona State beating Wisconsin

If the refs weren't completely brain dead at the end of that game, at least one computer poll would have Ohio State #2 behind Florida State.

Crazy thing is, even when the computers penalize Wiscy completely for that loss... they rank them higher than the polls.
Wisconsin is 13 in the computers. 14 and 15 in the polls. They should be ranked ahead of SC, Stanford, Oregon, and Fresno St. Even if you count their 2 losses... they're both to Division leaders in the PAC and BIG. Unlike Oregon, Stanford, and SC who have dropped games to inferior teams.

Could add Iowa to that list too. Iowa with four losses is not ranked and was flatly dismissed by Pollack on the countdown show today as being awful. They've lost to NIU, Ohio St, Wisconsin, and Sparty, who are 41-3 combined.
Ok, I'm done after THIS post.

But yeah, someone here on BP basically said Iowa is garbage. When I posted the fact that three of their four losses were to potential/probable BCS Bowl teams and the fourth was either Sparty or Wisky, I didn't get a reply. It's the espn hyperbole. It's become so pervasive that even Buckeye fans are stating it as fact as well as using it in arguments against homers like myself.
.
It's ridiculous.

1 more thing.

FUCK THAT SCHOOL UP NORTH.

BUCKYLE, out.

I'm kind of on the edge with Iowa. According to Pollster logic, they have "quality losses" ... but at the same time, their best win is Minny. I know Minny is better this year, but.. umm.. yea... just can't bring myself to go down that road. I think they're a decent enough team, but not sure about Top 25.
On Friday they're playing in the "Almost Embarrassingly Lost to Hoke" bowl against Nebraska. If both parties performances are inept as they were against the bowl's namesake... it could be another nationally televised embarrassment =/ I'm hoping it's over-shadowed by the comic duo Texas & Texas Tech the day before and LSU dismantling Miss. St. the same day.
