2013 Preseason and regular polls

I've thought of that, but it will only result in ESPN badmouthing us for the next 12 months as we still hadn't had to beat a real team.

As if that's not going to happen anyway?

You all are giving too much of a shit about what people who failed at English and ended up in journalism have to say.

Pumpkin the critics. Ohio State just needs to beat the team in front of them.

If we go to the Rose Bowl, then we are Rose Bowl champs, and there isn't really much to say. We beat a 2 loss Pac-12 team and it won't mean anything to them. If we go to the NC game and beat Alabama or a complete FSU team, then we get respect for it. If we go to a NC game and beat an FSU team w/o Winston, then they will spend a year discrediting the national title. Only one of them involves them really ragging on us more than normal.

What's really shitty is that back when FSU was running thru a pathetic ACC and winning NC's and ESPN hsd super chapped lips from all the peter sucking, FSU never had a winning streak anywhere near what tOSU is currently doing.

I think part of the reason tOSU is where they are that i haven't seen much about, is 1.No Bowl last year. It hurt more than i thought it would. The lazy ass sports "journalists" didn't get to see tOSU against a team they had actually watched all year. 2. The fact that tOSU wasn't going to a bowl no matter how good their record was. That being the case, not a single voter gave a single fuck about jumping anyone over tOSU because there were no consequences. Not any super angry emails from Buckeye fans, no real need to explain themselves in articles or on tv. They moved tOSU up when teams ahead lost, and felt no remorse for jumping anyone above tOSU, despite tOSU winning. I think both of those factors carried over into this season. Which really sucks. Not just for Buckeye fans, but for CFB fans. None of them paid attention last year, and they're not this year. If they were, they couldn't be so dismissive. This is a damn good team on a bad day. On a good day, there's not a single team in CFB that could slow them down. Fuck stopping them. It's also coached by one of the only two dudes currently coaching with multiple NC's.

I think you're giving sports journalists way too much credit. Beat bama, it'll be because Bama wasn't focused and how could you blame them? They've won so much and they overlooked tOSU because tOSU lost to UF and LSU (SEC! SEC! SEC!) in back to back bowl games less than a decade ago!

I could be a really good script writer for ESPN. Too bad I have a soul and wouldn't sell out my home school for money.

You think Ohio State is ever going to get respect. That's funny. And again with the 'we' shit....

Just sayin': Both Stanford and Arizona State have another game to play before the PAC-12 Conference Championship. It could be a 3 loss PAC-12 team.

If Ohio State was a person, it would be this guy

With all said and done, Ohio State put up points on the #5 and #10 defenses in Wiscy and Iowa and if they win out and beat MSU the #1 D in the nation, nothing will be said. Fl St is good but their only win is against Clemsen who plays S Car on Sat and may end the season with 2 loses. tOSU SOS is stronger than Fl St but you won't hear any talk about the possibility tOSU jumping them if they win out and beat a probable top 10 team and #1 D in the nation that is MSU. Bunch of bullshit. That's why I'm just enjoying the season for what it is and welcome the playoff next year.

If you think it sucks this year, its going to burn like hell next year when the Bucks are 26-0, fresh off a BCS Bowl win, and start the year #4 behind two SEC teams and an overrated PAC12 team.

If Brax returns, the AP poll will have them 5th and the coaches will have them 3rd.

If Brax doesn't return, they won't be ranked. Just watch.

I was being kind without putting too much into the thought of whos coming back.

The Buckeyes start next year without all but one O-Lineman, Starting and backup RB, PR, KR, WR and HB, SS, FS, CB, Kicker, and the best backup QB in the nation. Id be surprised if they were inside the top 10 in the AP Poll starting out next year. That said, expect less respect starting next year than they got any (or at all) this year.

I could not give a single fuck where tOSU is ranked at the beginning of the year. Honestly. It just means so very little. I know I was the loudest of the posters saying an undefeated tOSU would not be left out of the BCSCG, and that it looks like I was wrong. (Though i still believe Bama or FSU will lose, still) All that being said. ..regardless what happens this year, if tOSU goes undefeated, especially with the new divisions, there's not enough hyperbolic bullshit in Bristol to keep the Bucks out of the top four. Hell, I think they've been practicing for that exact scenario all year, imo. That's why they've claimed over and over again that any discussion involving tOSU can't be about whether or not tOSU is as good or better than Bama or FSU, but rather which teams currently with a loss "deserve" to be ahead of Ohio State. The whole system is a joke when ESPN can pollute every single game with the idea that they are somehow more qualified than anyone else to decide which teams are the greatest. I mean why don't more fans wonder why they're listening to the same guys that have gotten so much wrong? Are most CFB fans really this stupid?

If tOSU wins out, I'll bet you real money they start no lower than 9th. It's actually a pretty good indicator of how little the average poll voter pays attention.

Just tuning into these arrogant jerks on the 8:30 show. Twitter says that they hate the Buckeyes (sarcasm). Listen to them spin it, opinions, speculation, hyperbole, "I think" rhetoric, herbie and his frosted tips, et al. It's just a show for entertainment value. These guys don't know [mark may]t...

Let's see who they "push past Ohio State" this week. Hey, doesn't 23 straight wins buy you a shot near the top three.

"Ohio State is safe at #3 and doesn't have to worry about anyone jumping them" - ESPiN

What ? I don't believe it.
They can't be folding already... I mean... having 1-loss didn't stop them campaigning for Stanford...

Ahahaha! Somebody claiming Clemson is the best 1-loss team.
I like the guy making excuses for South Carolina for missing their starting QB against Missouri... who was also missing their starting QB?
BTW why isn't MSU in this discussion? If Auburn is "supposed to be a 2-loss team", Clemson got blown out, and Missouri lost to a mediocre SC ... why isn't a 4-point loss to an 8-4** Notre Dame a disqualifier?

**current 8-3, but I don't think Notre Dame can play Stanford Football™ as well as Utah or USC
