Why worry about Baylor? I have this funny feeling it's going to be Ohio State playing Baylor for the crystal...

I wouldn't lay any real money on it, but I've been thinking it for awhile now. Just seems like a "football gods" sort of decision.

Funny, I still have the opposite thought. I didn't think all 3 schools ahead of us would lose a game but I thought Oregon would. I just can't see how the 'Noles lose when I look at the schedule. Lose to FL, not likely and the joke that will be the ACC CG.....yeah right. Bama can stumble but I kind of doubt it. LSU>Auburn>SEC CG certainly create a few opportunities though. I am thinking we play Stanford in the Grand Daddy of them all and we win it in what turns out to be a very good game if Urb can motivate the troops. Being the 100 year anniversary you know the Rose Bowl committee would absolutely love that match up. I for one wouldn't of course. I want a shot at the title because I am totally convinced we can play with anybody. If by some miracle we play Baylor I think we win going away. They still haven't played anybody. Beating a piss poor OU squad at home doesn't impress me....at all.

I think tOSU has the tradition and coach to stay in front of 1 loss teams, but I don't think Baylor would be so lucky. I see a 1 loss Bama, Stanford, or Oregon getting in ahead of them.

I just don't see that happening, not after finishing as strong as they will. Have to remember that Oregon is done unless Stanford loses again and Stanford does not have the "wow" schedule to end the year that would push them (USC, Cal, ND, and ASU or UCLA in the CCG).

Baylor is lucky to finish with the strong part of their schedule last, much better than the other way around (which I think may bite FSU in the butt).

I wouldn't make a fuss yet as I have a feeling beating an 11-1 MSU with the claimed #1 defense will do quite a bit for us, more so than FSU playing scrubs the last 4 games.

I don't see Florida State losing, unless they lose to whoever they play in the ACC Championship or Florida wakes up and starts playing football. Praying for 'Bama to drop their game this week, or the SEC title game since Florida State has a good shot at running the table at this point. Baylor still has a couple tough tests ahead too, I think they could drop one of their next 4 games.

I would love to see this. lOlklahoma was stopping Baylor really well, until their defense imploded and offense started turning it over. I saw Baylor take off at the end of the 1st half, but when I watched the replays the big plays were primarily Okie defense out of position in addition to not tackling and their line getting tired. Though I was impressed with the speed of the the Baylor defense. I know Oklahoma's offense isn't elite, but they looked like a clown show. Part of it was the 'BelldLoLzer' had a bad night, but part of it was the speed of the Baylor DBs and LBs, who were really playing top notch. Bottom line, I still think our lines dominate Baylor on both sides of the ball and either Kenny G or Braxton are miles better then Bell. Plus we actually have a functioning running back (several of them) rather than using a quarterback as a running back. Oklahoma is SLOOOOW and not as big as I thought. Their years of poor recruiting is finally paying off.

This is a good point. What frustrates me the most.......by FAR is seeing how low Wisky is ranked. They have 1 loss in my eyes. They got flat out robbed at ASU. That game was theirs to lose. It was on the road and it was against a stout Sun Devil squad. Their only real loss is against a team in the top 3 in the country. They lost that game in our house and they put up a pretty good fight. If they were in any other conference they woudl be ranked around 12 or 13. Case in point - Miami. Ranked #11? I look at the poll's and I see several teams ahead of Wisky I think they beat on a neutral field. Several. Beating them should count for more than it does.

We make up for it by kicking the shit out of everyone else we play especially both teams from that stink pile of a state to the north. Most bye weeks worry me but not this one. I think our guys come back to work knowing they can play with anyone and they head to Champagne as pissed off as any time we have seen under the current regime.

Exhawg, Showme, Ulukin - I don't see Florida State losing either. I'm just sayin... It happens every year, without fail... the teams all the talking heads are basically saying are "in" end up not being in.. thus the reference to the "football gods" Frankly, I'd rank Florida State #1 right now and I don't see how they lose. I'm not as sold on Bama, but I'd probably put them at 2 and OSU at 3

I'd tend to agree with all of this. And, frankly, a matchup with FSU scares the poop out of me. I'd be more comfortable playing bammer if it came down to it.

I don't see FSU losing. I expect everyone they play to pretty much roll over. Bama, on the other hand could lose. Their schedule is heavily back loaded, and I'm still not that impressed by the Tide this year, beating up on the SEC West clown show. I expect to see Baylor losing, so I don't care if they bump up to 3 right now. My new prediction is FSU/tOSU in the title game. Stanford/Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl in a rematch of last year, which isn't good. I really didn't want to see 2 big ten teams in BCS bowls, everyone then has to 'step up' and get ready for a bad bowl season.

+1, FSU looks fairly unstoppable, though I'm on the Clemson and Miami are overrated train, just not 'losing by 30+' overrated train.
Overrated or not, they beat the living daylights out of both of those teams. And winning in Death Valley, at night, in that atmosphere, was incredibly impressive even if Clemson is only a top-20 team. They sytematically dismantled them and killed Boyd's supposed Heisman candidacy on the spot. To me, they're the best team in the country by a fairly comfortable margin. But, if tOSU continues to improve, especially on defense, I'd give us at least a puncher's chance against them.

Yeah, Miami at 11 is a joke. They struggled with Wake, UNC, and their impressive win came against a weak Florida early in the season. They got destroyed by FSU. Miami isn't that far removed from a 38 point loss to an average Irish offense a year ago, and now I think they're without Duke Johnson for the season if I'm not mistaken.

I would rank FSU #1 but I don't know if I would call them unstoppable. Although, against our shaky secondary they could exploit that weakness. I keep saying the same thing - we have something no other team has: the ability to change gears and play both styles, wide open full throttle and ground and pound. I love our OL and their ability to help control the clock. I love Carlos in a NC game. I like our D Line quite a bit too. I like Braxton in a NC game more than every QB other than AJ and I think that is actually a toss up because of Braxton's ability to keep the play alive.

Edit: Forgot to say that I love Urb with time to plan much more than Jimbo. Also, think of a defensive coordinator planning against us in a NC game. It's more of a challenge than planning against FSU.

That's about how I feel. Beating Clemson by single digits changes everything, but they won IMPRESSIVELY. FSU is the only team I don't feel comfortable with. We can stop their run, but our secondary will need to improve A LOT. I see FSU beating anyone in the country right now. That is why if we don't get a shot at Bama, I want FSU to get it. Us playing FSU and all you will hear for the next year is the SEC beat each other out of the title, and 1 loss Bama should have been in over Ohio State, and it's not fair the the Univeristy of SEC didn't get a chance to defend their turf, and whoever wins will have to have an asterisk next to their crystal ball. I don't think I could handle a year of it, the SEC champ needs to be in the game so that FSU or OSU can beat them.

Yes, Duke is done for the year. Miami is quite overrated at the moment.

Just looked it up, FSU is winning by an average margin of 38 points this year (51.1-13.1). For comparison's sake, the team I consider the best I've ever seen, '95 Corn won by 38.7 (53.2-14.5).

Incidentally, Baylor is winning by an avg of 45.6 ppg (61.0-15.4), which is absurd. But, they've played some absolutely horrific B12 teams and Wofford. OU is the first ranked team they've played, and they are horribly overrated this year...not even sold that they belong in the top-25.
