2013 Preseason and regular polls

Ultimately, I think it will take more than that, but that would be THE single biggest individual step towards a Big Ten restoration. And for those who would like to see Ohio State get a shot at doing that, for the love of all that is holy (and logical) STOP rooting for Michigan to lose games between now and The Game! We need Michigan to go into that game undefeated and as over-fucking-rated as possible!

You are aware that whether I root for scUM to lose or not has no effect on the outcome of the game?

True; though rooting for an outcome that will directly and negatively impact Ohio State's chances of getting to the NC game will, however, disallow that person or persons from any right to complain or bitch should these seniors go 25-0 and get shafted out of a chance to win a national championship.

If being able to wallow in a little bit of Michigan misery is more important than that, I guess we all have our priorities as to what's important.

If they go 25-0 doesn't that allow us to bitch AND wallow in a little bit of Michigan misery?

I'm pretty certain the first amendment gives me the right to complain or bitch about anything I want. I'm not saying scum winning is a lower priority than them losing. I'm saying if your paycheck is not dependent on scUM football and it's a priority in your life then you need to reevaluate your priorities.

Early BCS data: Tide and Ducks at top, Ohio State in sixth

Ohio State's computer rankings are pretty abysmal early on, and that's not a big surprise if you look at their schedule so far. The Buckeyes have played one FCS team (1-3 Florida A&M), two 1-3 FBS teams, plus 2-2 Buffalo and 3-2 Wisconsin. Only one of those games was on the road, although not all of the BCS computers consider that.
Things should get somewhat better after the Northwestern game this weekend, which is on the road. That's assuming Ohio State wins.

Ah yes. The yearly articles about how stupid looking the BCS is despite the fact that the computers aren't designed to work until the last game has been played. I call it the Boise Freak Out.

"OH MY GOD EVERYBODY PANIC!!! THE COMPUTERS HAVE BOISE RANKED NUMBER ONE!!!!"

Can't we just root for the other NC contenders to lose their own games? That's my plan.

I do believe that the seniors (over a year 4 year period) would have had (and/or played in) more than 25 games.

Re: get shafted out of a chance to win a national championship

Last year they were 12-0 and didn't play for the National Championship, I blame that on Gene Smith.

they have Nebraska in the Rose Bowl. No chance in hell unless Ohio State falls apart and Nebraska wins the Big Ten CG.

That's not necessarily true. The B1G CCG winner gets the automatic BCS bid. CBS has that being Ohio State and Ohio State going to the National Championship game. The Rose Bowl would then select an "at large team" to replace them. The bowls are all about the money and very few schools (if any, other than Ohio State) have a fan base that travel better than the Huskers. The Huskers could lose the B1G CCG (and be more attractive than the some other conference's runner up that maybe even had one less loss) and get the Rose Bowl's "at large" bid.
