Wichita State finishes 34-0 after a Final Four run last season, winning the MVC tourney today.

Other automatic qualifiers: Harvard, Eastern Kentucky, Coastal Carolina and Mercer, who just knocked out last year's Sweet 16 Cinderella, Florida Gulf Coast.

well yeah....people making shots will beat any defense. defense isn't Syracuse's problem. outside of the abortion of the Virginia game, they hold people well under what they normally score. they just can't score themselves.

Watching Robert Morris (and thinking), who do you think gets a head coaching job first (regardless of level):

Bobby Gonzalez or Mike Rice?

I'm surprised neither has taken an assistant job (although Rice's wounds are fresh, so that's understandable).

I'd have to say Bobby Gonzalez would get a shot first. It would be difficult for an administrator to justify hiring Rice as a head coach considering what he's done. Gonzalez as far as I know was just verbally abusive and got caught shoplifting, which is easier to overlook than the media firestorm and controversy that surrounded Rice.

9th seed St. Bonaventure shocks A10 top seed Saint Louis with a three at the buzzer, 71-68.

Saint Louis is 26-6, but they've lost 4 of their last 5. Not quite how you want to enter the tourney.

Syracuse continue their late season swoon - losses in 5 of their last 7 games - bounced from the ACC quarters by 7th seed NC State, 66-63.

Yeah this once promising season is over. They just stopped making shots for whatever reason. I'm wondering if Buffalo is still the destination anymore for them. Obviously they would sell tickets there, but strictly talking about a "do they deserve it" aspect.....I don't know. At one point they were looking at Buffalo then MSG on their way to the Final Four. Now I don't know if either are options.
