2013-2014 College Basketball (official thread)

Was Virginia missing any players due to injury against UT? Sorry, just don't trust them as going particularly far in the tourney this year. I saw that they avoided playing almost all of the top-7 in the ACC twice this season, that is a remarkable stroke of scheduling luck.
I have no idea what you have against Virginia because they are very solid basketball team. It is not like they made out to schedule for the ACC. Perhaps you do.like Bennett's style of play.. Also, almost every team has at least one bad game early in the season. There are just some teams out there that you do not particularly like and I have no idea why. Virginia might not win it all but I think they will make a nice run come dance time. Perhaps an elite eight team depending upon the draw but that is the case with every team.

Well Cuse just lost at home to Georgia Tech (14-16 overall).....looks like they are declining at the wrong time.

Apparently not having Jerami Grant really is a big deal for them. And yes they are declining at the wrong time. Potential massive upset victim, but the team that would be able to beat them has to have some ballers who can score from the gaps of the zone and a good big man, not sure their first tourney opponent will have those qualities.

I think you must have a love fest with Grant. First it was the Virginia loss and now they lose to Georgia Tech and both of these losses you blame on the fact that they did not have Grant. I mean Georgia Tech is not a very good basketball team and the loss of one good player from a team that was supposedly a #1 seed is just ridiculous. Did you ever think that may be they were getting outplayed or the fact that other coaches are learning how to beat that zone defense. Give it a break with Grant :ohbrother:

No Grant allows teams to focus on CJ Fair. Outside of those two, the scoring is not there. Ennis has been forcing things lately to make up for it, and Cooney has gone cold. That doesn't excuse the loss to GT.

It's not coaches learning how to beat the zone. They aren't even in the ACC for a full year, but the coaches figured the zone out when the BE coaches still don't know? Doubtful.

bold> Grant and you can forget the zone because I think if teams have pretty good shooters that zone has been figured out a long time ago

Watching Winthrop in the Big South title game. Some little 5'7" dude named Keon Johnson is 62-139 (44.6%) from three point range this season. He's from Mansfield, OH.

We've only got 2 guys over 35% from downtown and nobody at 39% or better.

You are starting to sound like Trey Burke's father:wink: We were not going to recruit him over Craft or Scott and I doubt if we even looked at him. I do not think he could play man-to-man in the B1G because coaches would post him up big time.

Craft or Scott? :ohbrother:

I was thinking more along the lines of the guys on our bench who never play.
