2013-2014 College Basketball (official thread)

Yeah this once promising season is over. They just stopped making shots for whatever reason. I'm wondering if Buffalo is still the destination anymore for them. Obviously they would sell tickets there, but strictly talking about a "do they deserve it" aspect.....I don't know. At one point they were looking at Buffalo then MSG on their way to the Final Four. Now I don't know if either are options.
As I recall, the reason for all the late-season losses were because they did not have Grant. I guess he must not have played against NC State:biggrin:

He's the only one that did play. Ennis and Fair couldn't hit a shot to save their lives last night. I know you like to laugh at how important Grant is to this team, but without him they're a prime candidate for a 3-15 upset.

Oh, how original of you.

Like it or not, IMO Virginia's win over Syracuse was tainted somewhat by Grant not playing much of the game. I refuse to believe in Virginia as a team that will make a deep run in the tournament (i.e., get past the Sweet 16). I don't think Syracuse will go much farther if at all, but Virginia is one of the more misleading teams that will get a high seed this season, they don't have the talent that the more dangerous high seeds typically have.

Already issued a bench warning to Pitino. I'm not the biggest Rick Pitino fan, but it's 5 minutes into the game. Guy is out there for himself.

After all these years, I'm still trying to figure out how his act benefits him. It's not like the NCAA (or conferences) award him with bigger assignments like the Final Four or Championship because of his act(s).

More of the reason he should just concentrate on being a good ref, but his ego won't allow that.

You know who he is, though. I think that's all that matters to him.

I guess Syracuse is a one-man team I never said that Virginia would make it past the Sweet 16 but you are the one blaming all of the Syracuse losses on the fact that Grant was not playing. I blame their losses more on the fact that Cooney has lost his early-season stroke. Virginia has a very nice team but so much depends upon on the draw as you well know.

see post above this one  I can understand your love for Syracuse and that is fine with me but I do not know about the other guy that keeps on harping about Grant and the Syracuse losses without him.
