It's not an entirely absurd assertion by Denard. But he forgets that Usain's slow starts are generally as a result of a slower reaction time. And Denard would be banking on Usain not having trained for a 40-yard dash under combine conditions.

Bolt would be a 1/5 favorite though. Justifiably so.

It's true that Bolt isn't classically built for shorter races (long legs, weird stride, higher weight, reduced reaction speed), but you're forgetting that the 40 yard dash timer is initiated by the runner. Bolt's reaction time to a gun was 0.165 s. There's no way Bolt runs above a 4.0, and even that is probably a high estimate.

You're right. I was trying to find some way not to pile on Denard. But please continue on. He deserves it.

I would be interested to see what Jeff Demps runs in the 40 though. He ran the lead leg on the U.S. 4x100 team in one of the prelims. He's been clocked at, I think, 10.1 in the 100m or something like that. He skipped the combine this year to train for the Olympics.

If D-tard is so damn fast, then why was he in the whore the past 6 weeks and not in London? Seriously, can someone tell me why a kid who claims to be this fast was never asked, nor took the initiative himself, to try out for the Olympic team? I would figure you would want to prove you are fast, rather than just talk a bunch of shit about it.
