Will Hoke make the right decision?
Whether they play or not, Hoke has already made the wrong decision. He had an opportunity to take a stand by announcing they would not play. Instead he appears to be trying to gain a tactical advantage by not letting Alabama know as they prepare (like that will make a difference).

15) Regarding #14, there is confidence that if [censored] can beat Alabama, they can play for the title.

Completely ridiculous for Hoke or any of his apologists (or our own contrarians) to downplay the seriousness of DUI because it's a traffic offense and not a real crime like, say, burglary. I would put real money on a wager that more than a few of the fat drunks who fill the Big House on a given gameday have friends or relatives who have been seriously injured or killed by drunk drivers. Allowing Fitzgerald to play against Bama would be simply shameful.

It's nobody's business how Hoke, Meyer or any coach handles discipline of his players. If the coach states he is handling it and a player meets the guidlines of any coaches corrertive action why should we care? The law is handling the legal part. Fitz screwed up, he deserves and is paying a price. I trust Hoke to handle it and to make sure it does not happen again. Meyer is handling your LB who got into trouble, it's really none of my business what Meyer does nor his motives.

How many times at 21 did any of us screw up, but we just did not get caught. Get off your high horses

When are we going to let coaches run their teams? If Fitz plays I am guessing the world will not end, if he does'nt the world will not end.

Well, then...there ya go, guys. It's not our business. The scUM fan said so. Next topic.

Those who care are, for the most part, rubbing this in the faces of arrogant scUM who make a big deal every time a Buckeye is arrested. It's either used as a means of pointing out scUM hypocrisy; or it's Buckeye hypocrisy. (Urban has yet to do anything like this; but there's plenty of history to point to)

I don't much care either; especially as this occurred in the off-season. If I were the coach he'd sit; but that's probably reason #40897823190877435897 why I'm not a coach.

Those fans are just as bad I agree, is Fitz getting treated different because he's MI number one back? Yes he is, same happens everywhere. Floyd at ND never missed a game with 3 DUI, Stonaum got suspended for a year for his 2nd and then kicked off the team for his third.

Being they have held Rawls out of any contact drills this past week, my guess is he is not playing.

Ok, first of all, people are expressing their opinions on the subject. This isn't a matter of what kind of bedroom fetishes Hoke has or whether Fitz Toussaint really wants to get that Minnie Mouse trampstamp. It's a public safety issue. And it's a priorities issue for a major college football team at a public university.

People are going to have their opinions. They're entitled to them. For instance, I'm of the opinion that it's a joke that Hoke will let Fitz play and it sends a bad message to his team that he may regret later on. You don't like that opinion? Cool. I can understand why seeing as how winning is probably more important than teaching a young man and a team a lesson in responsbility.

I want him on the field so that when the game is done there's no excuses coming from them. Everyone's eligible as far as I'm concerned...

Alabama is a Pro Team in almost every sense of the word..if and when scUM loses it will because they weren't good enough. If Mich. wins DR will have to have a VY rose bowl performance.

We're fans, and when fans make statements like the following that imply that they are on some sort of moral high ground, then other fans will take note.

I made a post a while back about how I am happy we have a coach that places his emphasis on developing young men into men of character. Whereas Urban strikes me as the type of guy painted in this and other articles surfacing. Urban strikes me as someone who doesn't think rules apply to him as long as he wins.

I love that Hoke lets his LOVE for Michigan sell the program. I have ZERO fear that we will run into recurring problems or infractions under Hoke. If I were a Buckeye, I would be extremely concerned about the long-term future of the program. Urban bailed on Florida because he knew what was coming. He had built a craphole program and decided to let someone else clean it up. Urban cares about Urban and winning. Hoke cares about Michigan, tradition and the young men he is tutoring.

I got blasted previously and expect I'll get blasted again. Doesn't bother me a bit. I am extremely happy we have Hoke. He is a man of solid character that will distinguish himself along with the Michigan program in the coming years. We'll see what lies ahead for Ohio and Urban, I just know I wouldn't trade Hoke for Urban and a handful of National Championships because, in the end, I see him leaving the Ohio program a burning pile of crap worse than the Florida program he bailed on.
