2012 Masters from Augusta

Congrats to Bubba!

Dude is pretty much the "Happy Gilmore" of the tour that sadly for others has a short game and can putt as well.

This kid is nothing but fun to watch, and is marketable as hell. Glad for him, because this kid's financial fortunes just jumped off the charts with this win.

BTW, I realize Bubba is not a "kid" in terms of chronological age, but he is to me.

Peace

Tremendously happy for Bubba. As I said earlier in the thread, I didn't think he could put it all together mentally to really compete for the green jacket. I'm elated to be wrong. Before the final round, I thought Oozy would reign supreme. He just has the composure I thought necessary to stay steady until the end. He did that but, with the exception of the miraculous albatross, never took advantage. Again, hats off to Bubba.

Anyone know what CBS's ratings were yesterday? I know now that Tiger fans just want what's best for CBS, the PGA and the poor corporate sponsors.

When Watson then put the shot into the trees I thought the Dutchman had it won, but he'd run out of tricks and made two terrible shots. Game, set, match. Incredible ending. Great fun to watch and Tiger was no where to be seen on the leader board - like a day when anybody beats Notre Dame or Michigan loses to Appy State.
He's South African.

All I ever hear from the Tiger haters is how much he's tossed down their throat even when he's out of contention. But it seems to me that the only people bringing him up this week are the people that say they don't want to hear about it. Why are we talking about some guy who finished +5?

Bubba is the Zurich Classic defending champ. I hope his new found success does not make him skip the defense of his win last year. Come back, Bubba!

I really liked Oosthuizen's [oo-wust-hay-sins] composure. He should have have won it in regulationa and lost it on the first play off hole. Watson really has an emotion problem and it cost him badly on that 1st playoff hole.

Oosthuizen really had it handed to him on the 2nd playoff hole but the call of the bush was too much for an African boy.

Watson hit a magnificent shot that was every bit as lucky as Oosthuizen's albatross. He deserved the win and well done to him.

However, I think we did see two things. The British Open win was not fluke. The true successor to Ernie Els as South African #1 has arrived. Look for him in the top 5 before the next Masters.

Disagree that shot was not lucky. He'd hit those shots earlier in the round/tournament (Bubba did). It's not lucky to hook the ball 40ish yards. That's skill. If anyone had the upper hand the 2nd playoff hole, it was Oosthuizen. He had what looked like a clear shot at the green after an abismal tee shot (again Bubba too). Louis hit his 2nd fat, and came up short. Then his chip was not played well either, even if it was a tough shot.

Bubba was clutch, and if it wasn't for a lucky double eagle on 2, Louis wouldn't have been in a playoff, and Bubba wins in 72 holes.

I do agree though. Louis has played very well as of late, and he's going to be a force to reckon with for the upcoming years.

That was a heck of a Masters tourney.
