I don't disagree with a change at the helm of the Northwestern program. It was probably time.

But I also do not know if a first-time head coach like a Chris Collins could do better than Carmody's heights with NW, if Collins is hired from Duke. Jim Phillips would probably need to turn to someone with head coaching experience.

Can we begin talks on how the BIG in general, and tOSU in particular are going to get screwed in this years brackets? I just get that sickly feeling this time of year. I don't think last year was too bad. Does that make this year a nightmare?

Gene's not heading it.

I don't think we can get much worse than when he headed it...and OSU was somehow the Top-Overall Seed and drew Syracuse, North Carolina and Kentucky.

I'm just interested in Big Ten teams playing schools outside the conference. I honestly think, at this point, Big Ten schools are sick of playing each other.

It's like Pre-Season Camp for football. You want to go out and hits someone else.

Looking at a poll from the Chicago Tribune, Bryce Drew is a name I hadn't even thought about for the Northwestern vacancy (longshot at best).

Most people seem to want Chris Collins (from the poll and generally, it seems, from the Chicago Tribune).
I doubt if Collins will leave Duke and his beloved coach. He has a cush job there and is his coache's mouth piece. Maybe they can get the Polish guy from Duke:evil:

I think Chris Collins will take the job, if he's offered the job.

But looking at Duke assistants now: Johnny Dawkins is having an up-and-down go-around at Stanford, Tommy Amaker is doing well at Harvard, but struggled at TSUN, Quin Snyder did well at Mizzou prior to his NCAA violations. I'm probably missing a few.

For someone in their 40's, I'd figure Quin Snyder would've gotten another college shot. Those were minor violations and an major affair .
