oh yeah, the whole redshirt thing is very shady IMO.......but what's the worst that can happen in two years? they apply for it and get denied. Oh well.

Personally, I suspect they'll be better. I don't think they have a conference championship-contending roster on their hands, and I know next to nothing about Brady Hoke, but there was no excuse for them going 7-17 in the conference over the past three years. I don't care how "bare" Lloyd Carr ostensibly left "the cupboard"; they out-recruit half the conference just by saying their name. If Brady Hoke is merely sensible, they will improve. They're not going to win the conference championship (I'd wager some money on that), but they will be improved this year. It's bound to happen by default.scarletngrey11;1908411; said:I might be in the minority here but it would not surprise me at all to see Michigan have no improvement over last season.
Last year they have a team with a good offense and a terrible defense.
This year they have a team with a terrible offense and a terrible defense.
Am I missing something here?
We'll see what their record ends up, but I don't know that improvement will necessarily be show in Ws this year anyway. If they do as well as '10 or slightly worse (I'm not sold that their O is going to be particularly good right now and the D is still horrid.) But... that said, I do think Hoke knows what he's doing and Michigan is turning it's course towards competence once more.zincfinger;1908434; said:Personally, I suspect they'll be better. My predictions aren't worth much, but in my opinion, the only reason they may not improve on last season's record is because their schedule is substantially tougher. In my view, their offense wasn't all that great last season (it looked good in a certain statistical light, but it wasn't a winning offense - turnovers and red zone meltdowns more than countered the yardage stats). The stats will diminish, but it will be a better offense this year, and the defense will improve as well. They've got holes galore on defense, by elite program standards, but they didn't have to be as bad as they've been. They'll improve from atrocious to mediocre on defense. And become a consistently ok team. Which is better than they were last year. If the record's not better (which I think it might be) it will only be because of the tougher schedule. Or at least that's what I would project.Buckeyeskickbuttocks;1908435; said:We'll see what their record ends up, but I don't know that improvement will necessarily be show in Ws this year anyway.
