2010 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Question for the board: how many more spots do we have for this class? The Scholarship chart would indicate that we have two more schollies to give if Bryant's verbal is counted. That means we save a spot for Henderson on NSD, and whoever verbals next will be it? We have survived the wave of NFL attrition and post-season transfers, so maybe it's easier to answer the question now.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Big Ten Blitz: Looking to close strong (free)

The Buckeyes picked up a huge commitment from Rivals250 prospect Christian Bryant on Tuesday, which moved Ohio State into the top 25 team recruiting rankings. Ohio State does not have much room left in the class, but the Buckeyes have an opportunity to close out big with a commitment from Seantrel Henderson. Five-star Jordan Hicks has been keeping things quiet, and has had his eyes set on Texas and Florida for some time. However, OSU is still holding out hope for the five-star linebacker. Bryant's five-star teammate, Latwan Anderson, would listen to Ohio State if they re-approached him next week with a scholarship opening. Four-star tackle Matt James also remains a possibility for the Buckeyes.

i am going to say moses, henderson and anderson...james to ND, brown to UC

I am going to call Moses and Anderson. I would love to see Henderson here but I am not getting my hopes up. I have learned not to from the past when it comes to 5* players deciding on NLOI day. I think if they can close with 2 of the 5 then the class would have to be considered a fairly efficient class in terms of filling needs.

From the view of someone who follows recruiting though not very thoroughly and started to follow it only recently. IMO, this class has always been a hit or miss class. After filling the needs with early offers and commits the staff stuck to recruiting the high level recruits hard and waiting on their decision. OSU also seems to be taking more high risk high reward prospects that if pan out will have very high ceilings but the floor could easily fall from beneath them due to grades, behavior, work ethic, etc.
I can see this class being a class that is looked at as one that provided a few quality players and a lot of busts or a class full of over achieving studs that fight the higher ranked prospects from the classes around them(assuming the '11 class lives up to the hype it seems to be getting.)
