Game Thread 2010 Rose Bowl: Ohio State 26 Oregon 17 (Final, 1/01/2010)

There have been a number of times this year where the only weak link on D was a mismatch with one of the LB's on a TE or RB. The final drive of the SC game really comes to mind here.

That's pretty much the basis for the west coast offense. I don't think you could find a decent offensive coordinator who doesn't look for LB vs. RB/TE mismatches.

"Feel that Posey is the only receiving threat we have."

Obviously Dane would love to prove them wrong.

Also, though inexperience is never a strength, I do think that it is a bit to our advantage that Oregon will not have a lot of tape on Flash and T. Wash to study. Both of these guys can stretch a field and IF he can hold onto the ball, T. Wash can pose problems for a secondary.

I don't know. I mean seriously, I don't know.

Jim Tressel doesn't have a history of handing over plays to unproven players in big games. It's a very small possibility that TWash or Lamaar Thomas have any impact on this game. I hope they prove me wrong.

It's crazy to think that Thomas has 1 catch for 10 yards on the year and TWash has 0 receptions on the year. This isn't a case of being unproven, it's a case of just never getting the ball. You can "well they didn't earn it in practice" me all you want, but how do you expect these kids to try harder when they don't get opportunities in the games.

Plus, Tressel even stated that they'd be in the #3 and #4 slots, respectively, but Stoneburner has been practicing at WR and if we do go 4 wide, it might be with a RB ala Saine. I think that shows the amount of reps the two will get in the Rose Bowl.

Neg rep me when TWash posts a 7 catch 190 yard 3TD day.

I seem to recall T Wash starting the first game or two. I was at the Navy game --- was that the one where he had one bounce right off his hands?

Now I am not saying he got much of a chance to prove himself... but when you only throw the ball 15 times a game, and then only 11 of those are on target, you just don't get many chances.

However, I think he has the moves and the size to get open and for some crazy reason I am confident that he will snag a couple if he gets the chance.

Maybe because he doesn't have a nickname like "Flash".

I'm just hoping that Oregon will sell out on the run so much that all of our receivers will be able to get open.

It's setting up for a good first half of passing... then hopefully a 20 point halftime lead allows us to pile up the rushing yards...

Attack mode Buckeyes!!!

First play from scrimmage, play action on the power - toss it deep.

I agree that they probably won't be called upon that much. But when they are, they need to step up and take advantage of the opportunity. You know that the Oregon D is going to focus on stopping Posey, so they are going to get a chance...

Colin Cowherd just said this game was basically like Girls Gone Wild Vs the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on top of other witty analogies I can't recall
Yep, and Oregon's OL is going to feel like Girls Gone Wild after they get gang-fucked by our DL...
