yeah, I'm a huge Sox fan. So by "we" I meant the Sox. I was surprised they let Martinez go, but he seemed like a liability behind the plate most games. I guess they are pretty high on this Saltamallachia kid.

Michigan Football, Miami Heat basketball, and Red Sox baseball?

Shocking....

The Boston Yankees should be pretty solid next year assuming they shore up their starting rotation and bull-pen.

I do think Crawford and Ellsbury are a bit redundant though...and too many left handed bats at the bottom of the order. I assume Jacoby is slid to the bottom of the order to make room for Carl otherwise their production is killed.

they traded talent away for Gonzo, that's different then "buying them." but who cares. Awesome news. You got to spend money to compete in the AL East, it's just how it works. This team is going to be off the hook.

Plus let's not forget that they let V Mart walk, and soon Beltre too.

Starting rotation is set still with Beckett, Lester, Lackey, Bucholz and Dice K. They'll add some bull pen help and probably Russell Martin behind the plate.

Red Sox fans.....up until the Red Sox realized all their whining about the Yankees wasn't doing any good, they needed to copy them.

[censored] 'em both.

and yet the San Fran Giants didn't spend jack last off season and won a World Series. So the whole "buying all the talent" has lost some of it's luster with the Tampa Bays, Texas, San Frans, and so on being successful, IMO.

but you know, haters gonna hate.

no kidding? I had not heard that. Russell Martin is a high batting average machine too. He'd be a great pick up.

ESPiN said they were looking at him, would be a great pick up IMO.

Projected lineup:
2B Dustin Pedroia
LF Carl Crawford
1B Adrian Gonzalez
3B Kevin Youkilis
DH David Ortiz
RF J.D. Drew
C Jarrod Saltalamacchia/Jason Varitek/Russell Martin
SS Marco Scutaro
CF Jacoby Ellsbury
