Battle for junior TE Koyack heating up - ESPN

Eatmon blowing up

A couple months ago Teven Eatmon (Bucyrus, Ohio/Wynford) could probably have been categorized as a sleeper, but not any more.

The 6-7, 280-pounder played tight end and defensive end during his junior season, but was not a starter. That has not bothered recruiters. Over the summer, Eatmon has seen his scholarship offer total rise to 10. His list includes Louisville, Syracuse, Indiana, Iowa State, Bowling Green, Akron, Kent State, Western Michigan and Toledo.

Eatmon attended camps this summer at Louisville, Ohio State, Michigan and Cincinnati. He also visited Bowling Green and Western Michigan.

"I'm pretty interested in all of them right now," Eatmon said. "I might take a few official visits as the season goes along."

When asked to name his favorites, Eatmon said, "I'm particularly interested in Louisville, Iowa State, Syracuse, Indiana and Bowling Green. If I had to choose, I would say Louisville, but I'm not close to deciding."

Eatmon said a few of the schools that he has an offer from are recruiting him as a tight end, some say offensive tackle, some say either position and Toledo is talking about defensive tackle.

Lloyd has the hot foot
Posted by JenniferScroggins at 7/23/2009 5:05 PM EDT on Cincinnati.com

CHCA punter John Lloyd, 6-3, 230, has been a busy bee this summer.

Lloyd already has made campus visits to the likes of Illinois and Northwestern. And this week, Lloyd was back on the road.

He punted for Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez on Tuesday, according to Steve Lloyd, John's father.

And Friday night, John Lloyd will be in Florida for the annual "Friday Night Lights" event in The Swamp.

Yet another member of the local Class of 2010 is going to have some decisions to make.

Toney Foster (RB/ATH) is a speedster that transferred to Glenville from Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School. Foster is in the Class of 2010 and already has landed a few MAC offers. Foster is not very big but might be one of the fastest players in Cleveland next season. His ability to make big plays will fit right into the Glenville offense.

Hall hopes to soon trim list

Safety/wide receiver Jimmy Hall (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview) estimates his scholarship offer total to stand at 16. His list includes West Virginia, Boston College, Northwestern, Indiana, Maryland, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Colorado, Kansas, and a number of MAC schools.

"Right now I'm in the process of trying to get it down to a top five," Hall said. "I'd like to get it down by the end of the summer. I've visited all the schools that have offered except Colorado, Kansas, Maryland and Vanderbilt."

The 6-foot-2 and 192-pound Hall made 85 tackles and intercepted five passes during his junior season. He caught 45 passes for close to 1,000 yards.

"Some schools say they want me to play free safety and some say wide receiver," Hall said. "Either one is fine with me."

Hall has no timetable in regards to selecting a college, and is leaving open the possibility of taking official visits.

"I'm trying to get a top five, then if I really like a school I could commit," he said. "I'm not sure about (official) visits right now."

Did I miss anybody?

Last year, Ohio produced 78 BCS signees. I think we are on a similar pace this year. Not a great year for Ohio but not too bad either.

Some observations:
-Interesting that Illinois has no commits from Ohio. They are coming off a losing season, but with Zook being from Ohio you'd think they would get a few Ohio guys. Their OL coach that went to South Carolina might be a reason, since he recruited Ohio.

-Same thing with Minnesota, they used to recruit Ohio heavily under Mason. Recruiting of OOS teams in Ohio is kind of cyclical.

-Impressed with Pitt's recruiting. They got some upper-middle Big Ten type of prospects from Ohio.

Ohio DB discusses commitment

Over the weekend, defensive back Jude Adjei-Barimah (Columbus, Ohio/Northland) committed to Bowling Green. He also had a scholarship offer from Kent State.

"Bowling Green has been recruiting me since the beginning of the recruiting process," Adjei-Barimah said. "They have been honest with me. It just felt like the right fit for me."

The 5-foot-10, 177-pounder made 38 tackles, intercepted a pass and deflected nine others during his junior season. He will play cornerback for the Falcons.

In addition to Bowling Green and Kent State, Adjei-Barimah had also been drawing interest from many other MAC schools as well as Kentucky, Iowa State and UNLV.

Ohio OL favors two schools

Offensive lineman Ben Buzelli (Wadsworth, Ohio) started at offensive tackle his sophomore season. He played both offensive tackle and defensive tackle during his junior season and will do the same as a senior.

The 6-4, 298-pounder is expected to play on offense at the next level. He attended camps at Ohio State and Pitt earlier this summer, and visited Akron.

"Akron and Ohio State are pretty much my two favorites," Buzelli said. "I like Cincinnati, Pitt, and Ohio University too, but mostly Akron and Ohio State.

"Ohio State is my favorite. At their camp they said if I play really well, after the first two games they would think about offering me."

Buzelli is waiting for his first scholarship offer.
