Wyoming coach Bernie Barre said Ohio State plans to be in this week at the high school to visit Wyoming junior DL Jibreel Black.

Barre was inducted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Friday in Columbus. That's where Barre introduced Black to Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel and defensive coordinator Jim Heacock.

"They have not offered yet, but if would not surprise me if they do offer," Barre said of Ohio State.

From earlier:

Wyoming football coach Bernie Barre said in an e-mail today that South Florida could be the next school to offer Wyoming junior DL Jibreel Black (6-2, 260).

"Joe Tresey (former UC defensive coordinator) called and told me that they want to offer," Barre said.

Black has offers from Purdue, South Carolina, North Carolina State, Miami University, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ball State, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, UC, West Virginia, Ohio University, Michigan State and Bowling Green.

Black is an interesting option for sure. I'm not from the Cincinnatti area, but I believe Wyoming is in a relatively weak league. The Scouting Ohio video had him going up against some small competition, but he still had an impressive video even with the competition being weaker.

Wyoming is in a decent league. They don't play any Cincy "powers" so to speak but they play some good teams. The play Badin, Indian Hill, Reading (Deshawn Wynn's school). Also, Wyoming is the school who produced Richard Hall... oh what it could have been.

I will make a stop out to Wyoming this year to watch him live.

Eatmon may be ready to blow up

It would not be surprising to see Teven Eatmon's (Bucyrus, Ohio/Wynford) stock soar this summer. The 6-7, 280-pounder was not a starter during his junior season though he played in all 12 of his team's games. Eatmon played both tight end and defensive end, catching five passes with four going for touchdowns as Wynford finished with an 11-1 record.

Recruiters have found their way to Bucyrus this spring. Akron, Toledo, Bowling Green and Iowa State are among those showing interest.

Eatmon plans to attend camps at Ohio State and Louisville in June, and things could really begin to pick up. Akron has offered a scholarship and it would not be surprising to see others join in by mid-to-late summer.
