Cincy Finds Another TE, Plus A Couple New Names To Watch
Posted by Mark Porter on Jun 11, 2009 at 12:22 pm

A few weeks back we released a video of Brad Harrah from Marion Pleasant and watched his offer list grow almost over night. The 6-7 240-pound TE is now off the market because he gave a verbal commitment to the Cincinnati Bearcats Wednesday.

Just last week we released a video of Eric Lefeld from Coldwater Hhigh School. This 6-7, 230-pound TE/DE also holds an new offer from the Cincinnati Bearcats.

With Alex Smith (Lakota West) opening up his recruitment this week, it looks like Brad Harrah and Eric Lefeld have the "stuff" the Bearcat coaches like. Both of these players have frames to add weight and grow into big time college players whether it be at tight end or another position in college.

This past weekend I covered the Lorain County Combine at Oberlin High School. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised to see over 100 players turn out and stumbled upon a few nice looking prospects.

Anthony Hitchens from Lorain Clearview turned some heads running in the 4.6 range on the long grass in Oberlin Stadium. Hitchens plays RB/LB for Clearview and already holds offers from Indiana and Kansas. After seeing him in person and breaking down his video, I expect his offer list to grow in a hurry. He could be one of the most powerful RB's in the class of 2010.

Cody Balko from Amherst Steele high school was also in attendance and turned some heads. The 6-5, 270-pound lineman currently does not have any offers but will be attending

Ohio PK has USC in top three
By Eric Guimaraes

PK Carey Spear (5-11 175) of Highland Heights, OH does not have any offers but is hearing from several schools. USC, Ohio State, Stanford, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Harvard, Princeton, Tennessee, and Duke are some schools that have contacted Spear. He says his favorites are USC, Ohio State, and Stanford. "They are all good schools and academics are important to me as well," he said. "They all have good football programs too." Spear is also fan of the south. "I love the Carolinas," said Spear. "Columbia is really cool how the city surrounds the campus. It's nice down there." Spear placed third at Chris Taylor's placekicker camp in Las Vegas, NV earlier this year and just got back from another competition at Ohio State. "I won the accuracy contest with a 58 yarder and the long distance competition with a 59 yarder." As a junior, he was 14 of 19 with a long of 50 and 30 touch backs.

Scout.com: Cunningham Emerges Onto 2010 Scene
(free)

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edwards standout Seth Cunningham has now picked up two FBS offers and is on the hunt for more as he emerges as one of the better prospects the state has to offer.

Seth Cunningham is a name that not many have heard of as a rising senior in the class of 2010. He?s since started making some rounds to college camps and organized 7 on 7 tournaments, and has made a name for himself with his play.

?Every time I?m on the field I?m just a mean dude,? Cunningham explained to Scout.com. ?But off the field, I?m just a really nice chilled out guy. I always watch and compare myself to Al Harris from the Packers. I notice he?s always in press man all the time, and he?s very physical.?

Those FBS schools that have offered him have seen the potential for the 6'1, 185-lb cornerback to have a career like Harris'.

?The only offers I have are from Akron and Cincinnati. They didn?t say much. Akron was just a surprise, one day I got the mail, and I got a letter saying they wanted to offer me a full ride. With Cincinnati, I was at there camp and that?s when they offered me.?

However, the Bearcats and Zips aren?t the only teams to notice Cunningham. Some heavy hitters are lining up to get a closer look at him.

?I?m talking to Michigan State, Ohio State, North Carolina, and Purdue. All those schools tell me if I can come to camp and do well, then I can get offered. All of them like my film but want to see me in person.?

Ohio DB lands two offers

Rising senior Jude Adjei-barimah (Columbus, Ohio/Northland) has landed his first two scholarship offers.

Adjei-barimah worked out at Bowling Green's camp a little over a week ago, then received a scholarship offer from the Falcons. He added a scholarship offer from Kent State this past weekend.

"Right now I like Kentucky, Iowa State, UNLV, Bowling Green, Toledo and Ohio University," Adjei-barimah said. "I'd say Bowling Green is my favorite. They have offered, plus they are fifth in the country in my major, sports management."

The 5-foot-10 and 177-pound Adjei-barimah made 38 tackles, intercepted a pass and deflected nine others during his junior season.

Adjei-barimah says he will likely wait until sometime during the football season before selecting a college.
