*EDIT- Wow, you guys are fast!*

Haha. Yeah, I know they've played some stiff competition... :wink2:

Things will certainly change, but all we have to go off of is the sample of 4 games. Tons of teams have played soft schedules. The stats are eff'ed for all of the them. More than likely, they aren't going to change a whole bunch is all I'm saying. I can't see them going from 40th after game 4 to 70th after game 12.

In contrast:

PSU held their opponents 14.5, 21.2, 16.3, 4* pts under their avg per game.
Iowa held their opponents 20.5, 23.5, 9.5, 15 pts under their avg per game.
OSU held their opponents 0**, 10.5, 31.5, 18 pts under their avg per game.

* - 7 on a ST blocked punt, and others thanks to many turnovers from Darryl Clark.
** - half of which came in a late meltdown

In terms of Total Offense faced:

Penn State
Akron - 114
Syracuse - 93
Temple - 89
Iowa - 81

Ohio State
Navy - 75
USC - 29
Toledo - 14
Illinois - 82

Iowa
N. Iowa - D-IAA
Iowa State - 51
Arizona - 38
Penn State - 56

Indiana

Eastern Kentucky - D-IAA
Western Mich - 73
Akron - 114
Michigan - 30

Penn State is statistically the best.... but, considering the competition... well... shouldnt' they be?

He was clearly wincing on the sidelines after a sack in (I believe) the 3rd quarter, and again on another hit in the 4th. The TD run came after those and may have just aggrevated it further.

Possibly. I've only watched the game once, so I've still got a few more times before I catch up to you guys.

They're Indiana. I'd say that's almost a certainty.

then why even use that as some kind of reason to believe Indiana's defense will be one of the better ones Michigan faces?

They started almost exactly like this in 07 (7, 27, 24 & 27 pts allowed), and finished 69th. That averages out to 21.25 ppg. They didn't even have to play UM or OSU that year.

What part of that game showed you a defense who could keep up a 22.25 ppg pace? I saw a suspect defense with a couple of players as the exception to the rule.

Most defenses won't let the IU offense chew up clock like that either, meaning they'll have more chances to wear down and/or surrender points.

Running down the list I see:

PSU at 9
OSU at 16
Iowa at 33
Indiana at 40

Who has Indiana played? I'll tell you:

Eastern Kentucky (I-AA) (they scored more points against Indiana than they did against their following two I-AA opponents)
Western Michigan (73rd in total offense)
Akron (114th in total offense)
Michigan (30th in total offense)

Goes to show that team rankings don't always tell the truth this early in the season. The only team Indiana has played so far with a semblence of an offense is Michigan, and the only reason Michigan is ranked 30th is because they've played against defensive juggernauts like Western Michigan (95th), Notre Dame (94th), Eastern Michigan (74th), and Indiana.

I was on record saying Indiana would give Michigan a game...I got laughed at for it. Do you know how I knew Michigan fans. Your defense will give up 30 points to an offense with a heartbeat.

Now...Iowa, PSU, OSU, and Wisconsin have defenses and players on their defense to dominate your OL. Young Forcier has shown alot of heart...but the rubber is meeting the road. I think Indiana goes to a bowl but there are alot of better teams you will face and MSU is one of them.

Without Forcier Michigan is 2-2. IMO Michigan might have the worst defense in the B10. Giving up 33 to Indiana at home is unforgiveable. If Forcier is not 100% Michigan needs to sit him. He gets knocked out for the season and Michigan is done.

Those doubting OSU's defense are in for an unpleasant suprise.

The funny thing about this isn't that Tater can't throw the ball back to the ref. It's that Pee Wee Herman shows up as a related video. Perhaps the band can work on Tequilla for Tater.
