2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

great pass by Forcier, right to the linebacker (who of course stone hands it), if this kid gets past his first read on a play before he throws or decides to take off I haven't seen it

announcers just said it is #1 offense versus #2 defense, that might help explain the poor defense

Forcier can definitely throw it better than any QB last year (not that that is saying much), he just had a nice toss for a TD, of course he was locked on to the guy (Roundtree) the entire time and is was only about a five yard pass in the flats

also, they are doing #1 versus #2 on both sides of the ball, which means that David Cone shredded Michigan's first string D for that 40 yard scamper earlier

Nope, was just asking if anyone was worried about his mechanics? No one here seems to be. I know some osu fans down here in Florida, and they've all expressed an uncertainty over his throwing. That's fine if you guys feel that way, there's nothing wrong with that. If I was an osu fan, I'd almost rather see TP being used in a Percy Harvin type roll. Get yourself a qb that can throw, but get the ball to TP throw the air and on some runs. But, if you guys are certain he is a qb, that's fine.
We have an early favorite for "dumbfuck post of the year". Seriously, intentional or not, this is borderline flaming. If you really do believe this, you need to put the joystick down and waych some real football. Video games are warping your mind.

No backups??? While Sheridan is a scary sight to see playing qb for UM, all accounts from spring were that he was looking much better. The coaches could tell he was in his second year with the system. I don't want to see Sheridan in the game, but he'd be better than last year.

And Denard? He doesn't count as a backup? The kid is lightning fast. He just ran a 10.28 100 meter. I realize that's track and how much of that translates is the true question. I'm willing to bet he plays football fast as well. He's got some work to do on his mechanics, but I'm sure we'll see him in the lineup from the get go.

Okay, at the idea of Sheridan again. And Robinson, ooooh he's fast! He's also another true frosh who is very raw. You just said you'd use Pryor in a "Harvin role" and then bring up Robinson as your QB. That's too much.

jesus, that wasn't even Forcier, who is #16? a terrible over pursuit by some DB (shocking) and #16 just ran it for about 40 yards, misdirection is making the D look like a JV team

edit: #16 is Cone

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Tate looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he doesn't look terrible, he just locks on to his targets and doesn't go through his progressions, also, 75% of the time when he drops back to pass and isn't rolling out of the pocket he takes off running

basically he is just a typical freshman quarterback, also keep in mind that he is going against Michigan's second string D, and Michigan's first string D is making David Cone look pretty damn good himself

Carlos Brown with an 80 yard (or so) TD run

I wonder if this #1 versus #2 crap is just to make them feel good about themselves on both sides of the ball, the funny thing is Michigan's first string D is doing terrible, they are definitely going to lose on the scoreboard (however they are keeping track of score)

Forcier just slammed in the endzone and fumbled the ball, you're not supposed to hit him!

Tate just sacked in the end zone. Only the quick whistle for the QB's jersey prevented it being a fumble in the end zone that the defense could have fallen on for a TD.

Yeah, it was Cone, and the other guy, "some DB" as mentioned above, was starting safety Stevie Brown.

I take back my comment about Cone looking good, he can't throw on the run at all and he has one of the slowest releases I have ever seen, they need to run the ball some more with him to get this #2 offense back on track

edit: Cone is out, some walk on named Kennedy is in now, the announcers say he isn't even guaranteed to be on the roster in the fall, apparently he is third string

Kennedy just connects for a 30 yard pass, first and goal!

and then fumbles the snap on third and goal, not only are they playing #2 offense versus #1 D, but they completely took out any misdirection from the playbook for the #2 offense, apparently they didn't want to embarrass the #1 D too much

Forcier rolls to the right and hits a receiver being covered by a linebacker for a TD on the first play for the #1 offense

Cone back in for the #2 offense, run the ball with him! it works!
