2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

Nope, was just asking if anyone was worried about his mechanics? No one here seems to be. I know some osu fans down here in Florida, and they've all expressed an uncertainty over his throwing. That's fine if you guys feel that way, there's nothing wrong with that. If I was an osu fan, I'd almost rather see TP being used in a Percy Harvin type roll. Get yourself a qb that can throw, but get the ball to TP throw the air and on some runs. But, if you guys are certain he is a qb, that's fine.
LOL are you seriously kidding me?

TP in a Percy Harvin role? Find a QB that can throw the ball to TP?

GTFOH.

Michigan fans should worry about Western Michigan before anything else IMO

with how their defense looks to be going this season and a twig freshmen possibly starting at QB, no game (except Delaware State) is a gimme for them

It's the offseason and it's still 5 months until the first game. Why should a fan be worried about a game that isn't for 5 months. A lot can change in the next five months.

I figured losses to Appy St and Toledo combined with the worst team in the history of the program would knock the smug off of you assholes.

Guess I was wrong.

I know that this will be a tough concept for a UM fan to grasp, but at tOSU our coaches work on something called "player development". That means that if we have a QB that leads the Big Ten in passing efficiency as a freshman without the benefit of going through spring practice, but said QB has some things that he needs to correct to perform better, our coaches work with that QB to make those improvements. This would be as opposed to changing him to one of 3000 slot receivers on the team.

You are still going to have a pint sized true freshman QB with no backups in sight 5 months from now.

No backups??? While Sheridan is a scary sight to see playing qb for UM, all accounts from spring were that he was looking much better. The coaches could tell he was in his second year with the system. I don't want to see Sheridan in the game, but he'd be better than last year.

And Denard? He doesn't count as a backup? The kid is lightning fast. He just ran a 10.28 100 meter. I realize that's track and how much of that translates is the true question. I'm willing to bet he plays football fast as well. He's got some work to do on his mechanics, but I'm sure we'll see him in the lineup from the get go.

Looking better against that scary UM defense, right?

And Robinson is the fastest player in the history of the Big 10 (or so I've read).

3 wins this year. 4 tops. Sad state of affairs in Ann Arbor.

First, let me just say, there are few people who think Pryor is a finished product. Of course he needs to work on his mechanics. In fact, that was priority number one in the off season, and now in spring drills. No doubt it will continue to be priority number on in the Summer. Footwork and mechanics..... From what I've heard, both are already better this year than last...

Second.... The idea of putting TP in a Percy Harvin roll strikes me as ridiculous.. not so much because I don't think Pryor would excel there (I think he would) but because of your comment "Get a QB who can throw" seems to imply that Pryor cannot... Or at least he isn't strong enough a thrower to merit serious consideration as a starting QB where his other skills might suit him for other positions.....

What more is Pryor supposed to do as a freshman? The guy lead the big ten in passing efficiency for shit's sake... Can't throw? Maybe your people down in FLA oughta have a look at a stat book and stop regurgitating what the ESPN talking asses say.

I understand why he would rather see TP in a Harvin situation. He threw 4 TDs in his first game, led the Big 10 in passing efficiency, was the first freshman to win The Game, was the leader of an offense that beat scUM by 35, appears to be a throw-first, great running weapon at the position on the field that gets the ball every offensive play, and appears to be a student of the game.

I'd be scared too.
