Yep... the tradition I was referring to was the awesomeness of their on-field play, not the emoticon.NFBuck;1578082; said:I think we were actually going with Boubacar Cissoko. There's also still Stevie :groove3: Brown.

I think this might be an addition by subtraction type of deal.
He was highly regarded and recruited by colleges out of high school because he was a very talented athlete, not because he was a very talented football player.
He didn't have any major red flags as a high school prospect like arrests, troubles with academics, or troubles in school like suspensions, fights, etc., etc..
I guess he just decided to become a head-case when he got to Michigan.

I found this pretty funny... gee, I wonder who was responsible for building up such extremely unrealistic hype for him??

GBMW: Michigan Football Tidbits -- MaizeMan's thoughts
I have been reading everyone's posts on various message boards and understand both sides of this issue. This is not a post to discuss Coach Rod's future. Coach Rod is here to stay for numerous reasons (we can debate this all you want).
What upsets me is those who continue to use this phrase "All IN".
1) What the hell does that mean? Does that mean fans should accept or does that mean you are NOT a fan if you do not blindly support Coach Rod? And here is a question for those who continue to harp on this, Is this Michigan's football program or is this Coach Rod's football program?
2) Why the double standard? Why weren't everyone "All IN" when Lloyd Carr was coaching? Does anybody actually think there were not factions behind the scenes against Carr? Does anyone actually think this is an issue that is only at Michigan?
3) Why doesn't this "All In" apply to the kids? Why is it okay to criticize bloggers / posters who question Coach Rod, but go after kids like M. Williams or even T. Forcier? Sounds hypocritical to me.
So should Coach Rod get a pass at Michigan. I contend that a majority of what has transpired Coach Rod has either brought this on himself or he sure did not do much to curtail it.

Second punch thrown by a UM player on the field this year. Last time, to the opponent's chin. This time, to the opponent's groin.
Classy team, that UM.
What does anyone expect from any team that is being led by a bunch of Big East rejects? Had one of Bo's players or even Carr's players ever even thought of doing such a despicable act.... they would have lost their scholarship, kicked off the team and probably thrown out of school. Michigan football is a sorry joke under Rodriguez.. no class and no honor... The sooner Rich Rod and his carpetbagging syncophants are sent packing the sooner Michigan will resume its rightful place atop college football!

Totally untrue. Two short years ago, Greg Matthews stomped on an Oregon player while he was on the ground and, IIRC, his "punishment" was to sit out the opening series in their following game. I know it was something along those lines. I'm all for bashing DickRod, but some of the revisionist history going on up there is high comedy. What does anyone expect from any team that is being led by a bunch of Big East rejects? Mark Ortmann's "punch" was reviewed by Rodriguez with Ortmann. He thinks it was open-hand, and more to push Corey Liuget away than to strike him. There should be no additional punishment for Ortmann.
