If practice *actually* translated to games, Barn Childress would have been a three time All American for us.goblue15;1478600; said:and your point is?

It's all part of The Master Plan(tm).

Dryden;1478643; said:Just to let goblue15 in on the joke, Bam Childress was "Mr. April." I think he collected eight or nine Spring Game MVPs in his time here. But put him on a field during a real game against a different team and he didn't know where to run, who to block, or anything.
Went on to the NFL, where he's been Mr. All-Practice for the Patriots for like five years in a row now, too.
Good player. Good kid. Just didn't have it.
According to the blog MVictors.com, Michigan and Minnesota recently discussed scheduling a nonconference game in 2010 at Michigan Stadium. The Wolverines are still looking for an opponent for the Sept. 4 opener, which will mark the first game in the renovated Big House. Minnesota has open dates on Sept. 4 and Sept. 25 and needs to add a 12th game for 2010.
The Gophers and Wolverines don't play in 2009 or 2010.
Minnesota athletic director Joel Maturi confirmed the discussions and explained to MVictors.com why the plan ultimately didn't pan out.
IIRC, this game would not have counted in the big ten standings, it would have just been an ironic OOC matchup. We had already scheduled Southern Cal for next year [2010]. I'm not a real brilliant guy, but I'm not so sure it's in the best interest of Minnesota football to play Southern Cal and Michigan in back-to-back weeks. Non-conference, so-to-speak. As a result, if we had not scheduled Southern Cal I would have been very interested. But we had already inked Southern Cal, which again I applaud coach [Tim] Brewster for improving our schedule, but you don't want to improve it too much. I'm not so sure Ohio State or Michigan would do that either.
Bill proposed it. I thought it was intriguing because the honest truth is, I still needed a game for next year and so did he.
They aren't even the best directional Michigan school, at least recently.Wingate1217;1478705; said:This was found on college football news......

* "But Andre Ware might. The ESPN college football analyst says that not only does he think Ohio State will beat Michigan for several more years, he also thinks Western Michigan will upset Michigan this year. If the losses to OSU and App State had BO rolling in his grave a loss to a directional Michigan school might cause him to rise from it."

True, but they run an offense tailor-made to beat scUM and with this being Tater's debut, freshman mistakes and all...jwinslow;1478708; said:They aren't even the best directional Michigan school, at least recently.
