2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

Yeah, way to bring up something that has nothing to do with the topic at hand- Cullen Christian........and Purdue. Pot, meet kettle.

If anything, this game probably only solidifies in Christian's mind what the coaches have been telling him- "CC, we need DB's, come to Michigan and you're starting from Day 1" - which is certainly true. The kid isn't being BS'ed or lied to, he can see with his own eyes that he's a starter at safety or CB, especially since Donovan Warren is probably going pro after this year.

Yeah, we lost to Purdue. Then again, you probably will next week too, difference being you've also been beaten by...pretty much everyone else in the conference too

FWIW (for the board, not your response here Bru), that series was split out of Cullen Christian's thread. As posted in Cullen's thread, there are plenty of places for mocking and squabbling about UM, but that is not one of them.

Yep, I'm just following the rules and doing it here

So let me get this straight . . . They may have to figure out if Delaware State is actually giving out enough scholarships to their players to determine if they are allowed in a bowl game?????

Priceless.

If they go 6-6 this year, that's right. Delaware State is allowed to give 63 schollies for football, so over the last 2 years they need to average 57 in order for the win over them to count toward FBS bowl eligibility. Their media guide doesn't list which players are on scholarship, and FCS schools are able to give partial scholarships, so it's tough to tell how many they've awarded. There are 84 to 95 guys on the team, depending on which version of the roster is being looked at, so it's probably safe to assume that they're using close to the 63-schollie limit.

They won the MEAC title in 2007, so they're trying at football, even though they're 2-6 this year, just lost to SC St 52-10, they play in a stadium with a capacity of 7,193, and once lost to Portland State 105-0 (the biggest lost in 1-AA history).

Was that in the Neil Lomax run and shoot era? I used to see those scores come across the screen and wonder what on Earth they were doing in Portland.

Yep - Lomax was the QB in that game.

Which means he's now likely to get an ESPN job and accuse JT of running up the score. :tongue2:

:slappy:

Lomax was awesome when he used to play for those awful Cardinal teams...as such, he would do no such thing :wink2:

I guess "mh20" (rightfully) got permanuked, but I wonder why "recruiter129" doesn't come around anymore. HTM has all but disappeared too.

Kudos to the um fans that do still pop in. That takes some bras balls when your program is totally imploding.

Heh. Apparently, there's quite a feud going on over on the scUM premium boards between "Maizeman", who is known for giving detailed practice recaps without pulling any punches, and the beav. Maizeman has taken issue with Beaver sharing Private emails calling him deceitful and basically saying he's done posting over there. It's a shame because he's always provided a good bit of inside info on their program. Just goes to show what a douche Tom Beaver is. Apparently, he's taking MM's info and passing it off as his own. Here's the link to the premium thread...

50.1% chance Beaver or SonOfHormel comes along and deletes it.

50.1% chance that the people have spoken and they prefer the delusion to the reality.

Besides, what's the internet without some baseless accusations about how your rival's head coach gets more talent than your team?

Well there goes all meaningful updates from behind the scenes at practice, and the only reason to attend chats.

Hope his subscribers like 'could be' answers to 99% of team questions beyond what beat writers deliver daily.

Tom has milked MM's far superior team updates for years... and now wants to pretend like he's a fake insider. Yeah, that's why you always duck out of chat and say MM can handle the team questions, that's more his thing :roll1:

Obviously, they're mostly siding with Beav because he always paints the prettier picture. Of course, that requires totally ignoring how things have played out both on and off the field the past couple years. Personally, I never took much issue with beav until the Pryor recruitment last year. That basically showed what a piece of shit he is.

Him leaving is a huge blow to that board for the non-"sunshine and lollipops" crowd. He was probably the main reason I subscribed (they do have some other good posters like CoachBT). I rarely read anything Beaver posts for anything other than comedic value. I'm waiting to see how this plays out, but if mm is gone, I'm canceling my subscription. I don't need to pay for coin flips.
