2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

Him leaving is a huge blow to that board for the non-"sunshine and lollipops" crowd. He was probably the main reason I subscribed (they do have some other good posters like CoachBT).
He was already posting less frequently because of the backlash from those who wanted sugar-coated thoughts. I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave after this.

Yeah, I've noticed that, but he was still putting out enough to keep me interested. Those siding with the beav accuse him of "having an agenda" and "hating RR". Of course, like I said, they're conveniently ignoring what's going on around them. He does have a small contingent backing him, but they're getting smothered by SoJ and the rest of beaver's lemmings. Now it appears the thread was deleted. What a joke that board is.

He was like the GBW version of Chris Spielman. Pretty knowledgeable, give you some insight into the X's and O's, but the best part was how passionate & brutally honest he was. He wouldn't pull punches if OSU was destroying Michigan in their coaching approach, recruiting focus/strategy, personnel. And like Chris, he'd flip out when his boys would sit there and let their hated rival (in this case OSU or MSU) hit them in the mouth all day with no retaliation. He also would have a sentence here or there that didn't have perfect grammar, but the point was strong nonetheless, like Chris

Yeah, maize is gone. I just got banned over their for telling the truth about the whole situation
Curious what you posted.

From what I can gather (outside of what has already been deleted), the trigger for the dustup was that MM posted that Mike Shaw was practicing in a green jersey (signifying an injury of some sort). Beav said he wasn't in a green jersey and inferred that MM was not at practice or making things up. MM blasted back that a player can begin practice in a green jersey during drills, then if it's determined he can go, they'll let him go full bore. Also, MM mentioned a friend of RRs was visiting from WV, which for some reason sent Beav into further denial mode. MM said the guy is, in fact, there as it was for a business meeting that he was a part of. All seems pretty petty, but there are apparently some underlying issues with beav's use of MM's info in the past as well as beav posting some private emails. I have little respect for beaver after the shenanigans he pulled during Pryor's recruitment.

Here's the initial post from that thread....

Take a look at this...This is the 2007 WVU team that finished the year pounding #3 Oklahoma 48-28 in the Fiesta Bowl. If Pat White hadn't got hurt against Pittsburgh, this team would have pounded OSU in the national championship game. Here is the opening-week starters for that team, along with their recruiting rankings (Rivals? rankings unless otherwise noted).

5-stars: 0

4-stars: 0

3-stars: 7

2-stars: 12

1-stars/not rated: 3

I repeat, if Pat White hadn't got hurt against Pittsburgh, this team would have won the national championship. Richard Rodriguez is one of the, if not the, best college football coaches in america. No one does more with less. His system takes time. With the right players (even lowly rated ones), it works.

Notice how many 5th year seniors (2003) there are starting on this team? 9.

4th year seniors? 6.

Juniors? 4.

Sophomores? 3.

Freshmen? 0.

EVIDENCE:

WVU Starting Offense 2007:

QB Pat White *** 2004
TB Steve Slaton *** 2005
FB Owen Schmitt (N.R., walk-on)
WR Tito Gonzales ** 2004
WR Darius Reynaud *** 2004
TE Michael Villagrana ** 2003 (DE)
LT Ryan Stanchek ** 2004
LG Greg Isdaner (N.R.) (* Scout) 2005
C Mike Dent ** 2004 (DE)
RG Eric Rodemoyer ** 2006
RT Jake Figner ** 2004

WVU Starting Defense 2007:

DE Johnny Dingle ** 2003
NT Thor Merrow ** 2005 (TE)
DT Keilen Dykes *** 2003
SLB Marc Magro ** 2003
MLB Reed Williams *** 2005
WLB J.T. Thomas *** 2006
CB Antonio Lewis ** (SCOUT) 2003 (QB)
FS Eric Wicks ** 2003
SS Ridwan Malik (N.R., walk-on)
BS Boogie Allen *** 2006
CB Vaughn Rivers ** (SCOUT) 2003 (WR)
(1) Um, RichRod wasn't the coach of West Virginia when they "pound[ed] #3 Oklahoma 48-28 in the Fiesta Bowl." By then, RichRod had already taken his wizard hat and satchel of snake oil and bolted to Ann Arbor. Nice when your argument can't even survive the second sentence of your post....

(2) That mighty Mountaineer offense hung a huge NINE POINTS on a 5-7 Pitt squad in RichRod's last game in Morgantown. No wonder he snuck off like a thief in the night....

All seems pretty petty, but there are apparently some underlying issues with beav's use of MM's info in the past as well as beav posting some private emails. I have little respect for beaver after the shenanigans he pulled during Pryor's recruitment.
1. Maizeman sent out an email privately which are not to be distributed.

2. The email contained info about a player who entered practice in a green jersey, but didn't have it on during practice (which was the smoking gun to cut ties after years of milking MM's content) and thus was "made up info"

3. Tom calls out maker-uppers, alluding to MM, gives a few examples. He also mocks this person for losing their connections with the old regime (then why were Maizeman practice reports pinned atop BP for the last 2 years during RR's regime?)

4. MM posts a heated board thread... stands by his emails, explains the misunderstanding. Was furious at Tom for calling him a liar, particularly by using private emails, and says he won't associate with deceitful people.

5. In an impromptu chat, Maizeman calms down a bit, is more regretful than angry, speaks well of Tom and doesn't want anyone to have hard feelings over his departure.

6. Tom joins chat. When asked why he attacks MM, he says he would never attack MM, it hurts him every time, but won't do it.

7. Then says they won't use people who make stuff up. What happened to #6?

8. Tom says UM was mad at them for MM's info, even though it was through an email. so they cut ties.

9. Other mods say that they're moving on, because to prove their point they would have to attack MM professionally.

10. Maizeman apologizes on the board for the misunderstanding and the difficulty that he brought on the board.

The board is a bigger circus than the team or school politics.
