Pretty bad when the self-proclaimed "best D in the country" loses a game to a WAC team for their home opener.

Did I miss something, or does only one half of every game (the better of the two) actually count? And if it is true that only one half of games count, I nominate the Tennessee Volunteers for the "best D in the country". OMG!! 4 INTS IN THE FIRST HALF!!!!!1!1!!

Rivals $

9/3/08 - RR Presser

RR says LB Witherspoon will not qualify, now or later. Taylor Hill is also transferring. He's not worried, he'll just recruit more.

Huge loss for UM, 'Spoon was a major talent, and Hill brought speed to the new scheme.

More slots and undersized RB's? :tongue2:

Hill was one of their recruits I really liked and thought would be a player for them.

You don't think the old offensive system would have done any better than the new one?
I would think they would as well. That looked like a team learning a new system out there that lacked the personnel to properly run it. At the very least with the pro-style offense, I have to think mallett (assuming he would stay) would've been able to move the ball better and stretch the field. Minor and Brown would be much more effective as well. I think Carr (maybe) wins that game.

Carr, with his boys, would have won this one no doubt in my mind. Oline would have been much more than whatever you want to call what we just saw. No doubt in my mind. A QB that should be starting in the B10+1... yeah, no doubt. They'd have won that one.

SCUM is -1 so far with DR compared to what they would have been with VLoyd.

Yep. Had Carr stayed, he would have easily outscored Utah with Mallett at QB and Boren on the OL. Those are huge losses for this team, which does have some players at WR.

Easy there fellas. Utah is still a spread team and we all know Carr's history there. I think he would have had a better chance, and it certainly wouldn't have been so sloppy. I said maybe for a reason.

The one place RR could not afford to lose people was defense. Dang!!!! Taylor and Witherspoon. Taylor was heavily recruited by stoops. GONE... their two best Linebacker recruits from last year. Man the hits just keep coming for Michigan. That is a major kick in the groin.

He is so egotistical he still believes he can beat the big10 up with an so so defense and great offense. Boy oh boy is this guy taking Michigan down a path they never wanted/intended to go.

Yeah but just think, when they switch over to that 1-1-9 with 4 DBs and 5 Rovers, think how hard they'll be to pass on. It's going to be like storming the castle gaurded by flying monkeys.

Actually, pretty much all the guru services had J.B. Fitzgerald ranked ahead of those two. But whatever....keep on being a caricature of yourself.

[brutus2002]Nico Johnson just committed to Alabama....this is a severe blow to Michigan! Never mind that they never offered him, it's a blow to RichRod! And Jelani Jenkins had an interview and didn't say Michigan. This is a blow![/brutus2002]
