I have been looking for this shoe to drop since RR took over. Look at their list of commits and ask who is out of place?

Campbell is 57 pounds heavier than UMs second biggest recruit. Their third heaviest recruit now weights 230 - and he is a place kicker.

The only thing that could make this better is if he picks MSU.

Hell, maybe he will pull a Boren.

UM now has zero five star and 4 four star recruits. The 4 stars weigh an average of 187 and two are QBs. And this is MICHIGAN. This isn't RR taking over at Grambling. His inability to land quality players at a school with such a vaunted reputation and shallow depth chart is a genuine mystery.

There is a part of me that wants to crack up laughing (ok I already did that) but this isnt good for the big ten as a conference. This is going to set tSUN back years. Dont get me wrong I look forward to beating Scum for many years to come and watching RR cry like a baby.

At least some of those turds are starting to get it. The kiwi feller had Lloyd's back, appropriately so. This is DRod's doing, all the way, and I suspect they aren't getting Campbell back.

I hate scUM as much as anyone else, but part of me is starting to wish they fired the Rod tomorrow, and waved a white flag this season. If they continue in this downward spiral, beating them won't mean shit any more. Hell, it's been our best win 6 of the last 7 years.

Having said that, William Campbell, come on down! :osu:

Okay HTM, this is really gonna test that spin cycle. :wink2:

Campbell was their first recruit and committed June of 2007. For 14 months he has been a Wolverine. He lives in freakin Detroit. He certainly has been on campus many times and knows the players. Imagine how blue this kid had to be and what it had to take to get him to change his mind.

This isn't like OSU losing Berry or Pryor. This is like losing Strom Klein or Mike Adams - a kid from our own back yard.

It is a huge statement. And "We only want kids who want to be Wolverines" simply isn't going to cut it.

I am just having too much fun with this.

Here are the top 10 recruits from the state of Michigan according to Scout:

Campbell - ???
Chris Norman - MSU
Dion Sims
Edwin Baker - MSU
James Jackson
Reid Fragel

Larry Caper - MSU
Teric Jones - UM (but he goes to the same HS as Campbell - who knows?)
Mitch Kessel - Cincy
Zac Matthias - Wisky

I don't care how much of a national recruiting force UM is - Jim Tressel himself could not survive that kind of performance in his home state.

At least William is in the neighborhood, and he can show up Saturday to get a straight-faced look at their fancy new coach. Unfortunately for Witherspoon, I think the lines of communicado have been cut, sliced, and tossed in a blender. I think William officially decommits as Miami scores the winning touchdown tomorrow. Which may actually come in the 2nd quarter. :tongue2:

What was I thinking? I meant Fortunately.

Absolutely crushing blow. Campbell was the saving grave of this recruiting class, despite being Lloyd's verbal. More important than newsome, especially since he was better equipped to make an early impact than Kevin. Plus beaver and Tate were capable of taking Kevin's spot by force.

He took attention away from the absence of premium beef, on both sides, but especially at de. At least 3/4 of the dl graduate, with the other, Graham, nfl eligible.

Plus there is the 'mojo' angle. Usc cherry-picked instate leans rojo and Perry from um's grasp. Then this recruiting season, msu capitalized in state with momentum, both real (Norman) and perceived (baker, etc). This was rationalized away based on big will. Guess which soCal team was the fear with him?

This is enormous.
