I feel that woody2012 is indeed telling the truth here. But being a new poster, he probably doesn't know the 'norms' here at BP about posting opinions of Buckeye players and coaches. Let's give the guy a break because at least he's telling the truth.
You honestly think Jim Tressel is not a "TOP D1 LEVEL COACH"?

I apologize to the readers as I made a mistake on J. B. Shugarts name.

As far as Bob Stoops he and his staff came to Columbus to spend time with our coaching staff, the two heads have great respect for each other.

So J.B. Shugarts play so far we have him down with several pancakes and he also has proved to be very good at getting down the the 2nd and 3rd levels. He played TE in high school and never dropped a pass.

BUT IF YOU ARE EDUCATED ON O-LINE PLAY THAT IS THE WAEKNESS OF THIS FOOTBALL TEAM, PENALTIES LAST WEEK AND AGAIST A VERY LIGHT D LINED TODAY COULD NOT CONTAIN THEIR NUMBER AND HAD PRYOR ON THE MOVE.
I STAND BY PRYOR PLAYING PART TIME IF THE LINE DID ITS JOB BUT SINCE THEY PLAYED SO POORLY WE HAVE A FRESHMAN QB WHO IS THE NEXT VINCE YOUNG WITH A BETTER ARM PLAYING NOW.
SO SOME GOOD COME OUT OF IT.
WAIT UNTIL THEY START LINING UP TO PLAY SOME SPEED AND SIZE SCHOOLS LIKE LAST WEEK.
AGAIN I KNOW JIM AND I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST HIM AND ALL HIS EFFORT HE IS JUST NOT D1 TOP LEVEL COACH......AND I AM JUST REPEATING WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS.

About halfway through this, I wasn't sure if I believed what you were saying. But then you switched to all caps and now I'm convinced.

Cordle gets new view with O-Line shake-up

By JON SPENCER ? Gannett News Service ? September 21, 2008

COLUMBUS - Veteran Ohio State center Jim Cordle had a different perspective than usual on Ohio State's quarterback play Saturday, and not just because the Buckeyes switched from Todd Boeckman to Terrelle Pryor as the starter.

With left guard Steve Rehring expected to be sidelined a few weeks by a sprained foot, Cordle shifted over one spot to replace Rehring with freshman Mike Brewster handling the snaps in the Buckeyes' 28-10 victory over Troy.
"I helped Mike out with the calls," said Cordle, a junior from Lancaster. "It's nice to have two centers out there. He did fine physically and he'll keep getting better."
Brewster is part of a heralded trio of linemen in the 2008 recruiting class, along with J.B. Shugarts and Mike Adams. All have already worked their way into the rotation.
"It's good that (Brewster) competed in the game because you really need (repetitions) to be good at center and see everything," Cordle said. "We'll see how it goes."
Cordle was even more impressed with the way Ohio State's freshman quarterback handled himself in the huddle.
"Terrelle's been composed and a leader from day one," Cordle said. "In the huddle, he's like, 'Let's go.' His demeanor was very serious. He was very focused."

Boone blasts Boeckman's boo birds

9/23/2008, 7:44 p.m. EDT The Associated Press
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ? What's brewing today with the 2008 Ohio State Buckeyes ...
BUCKEYES BUZZ:@ A lot of critics have been ripping Ohio State's offensive line play. At least last week, one of the critics was none other than head coach Jim Tressel.
Tressel walked over to the offensive line during Monday's practice. He made his presence felt immediately.
"Now he's the assistant offensive line coach and he's always down there yelling at us and he's always screaming for us to move faster, faster, faster," tackle Alex Boone said after Tuesday night's practice. "He's down there everyday. We thought it was going to be a one-shot deal. ... I think we just needed a kick in the rear."
Another lineman, Jim Cordle, said the change in Tressel is obvious.
"Coach Tressel came down last Monday and he said, 'OK, this is no line-coach day. We're going to play fast.' They were just getting after us and yelling at us," Cordle said. "There was just a lot more energy from all around the coaching staff and players."
Maybe the Buckeyes needed to be yelled at. Cordle said his mother picked up on the difference, both in the line's play and in the head coach's demeanor.
"My mom even noticed it," he said. "(She said), coach Tressel never steps away and he's always calm but he was down there yelling."

To me, that article examples the problem as I see it. As seniors and experinced linemen they should not have to be jacked up by the coaches. They should already understand the need for and be bringing their own intensity.

No bashing.. you can criticize all you want.. but when it crosses over to bashing, there are problems.

I've been critical of this team and coaches. Not hard to do it without saying "So and so is the worst" or something like that. If you're going to lay that out there, at least back it up and say what you would do differently. Saying someone is the worst at something, especially when said person is a coach at a school as large and successful as OSU, is something that you must back up.

Trying to save you from a ban here..

Why did it have take Tressel running the Oline practices for these players to take practice seriously? What is going on here? And I couldnt help reading the rest of the article where Boone is complaining about the treatment of Todd. Cmon, can these guys focus on the task at hand? Get to work, practice hard and stop letting fans booing or the media calling you slow, bother you so much.

Why is the Oline only going through practice at 75% speed? Is this how our practices go? Only half speed or 3/4 speed? Was the kid from SC right, when he said, that he doubts we practice full speed?

Speaking of scolding

The offensive linemen found out the Monday after that loss at USC just how unhappy Tressel was with their play. For the first time that the senior Boone could remember, Tressel was in their faces at practice.
He was "screaming and yelling at you, and was on you about playing faster -- but that's the thing that we needed," Boone said. "We were just lazy and slow, and you could see that when you watched us.
"Now he's the assistant line coach, and he's always down there yelling at us. He's telling us to move 'Faster! Faster! Faster!' It's kind of nice. I kind of like it."
Offensive coordinator and line coach Jim Bollman has been known to yell, Boone said, but hearing it from the head coach was like shock therapy.

Man, I can't even imagine Tressel screaming in someone's face but I'm really glad it's happening. Why did it take so long?

When a coach yells all the time, the players get used to it and there is nothing in the well when they need a boost.

When JT yells, it is called "shock therapy". It wouldn't be as effective if he did it all the time.
