I realize Mallett was the QB after Henne....that's why I included him. It's Michigan's fault that he left, so no whining about that is allowed. It's Michigan's fault there's no backup behind Mallett. What would have happened if Troy Smith left early? Justin Zwick. What would have happened if Boeckman left early? Bauserman, Henton, Pryor. What would have happened if Krenzel left early? McMullen.

The system change doesn't fly.....since I believe the walkon is a pocket passer, right? It's not like Michigan had the backup plans in place but the walkon better fits DickRod's system, right? A walkon is poised to take the starting quarterback job at the University of Michigan. That is embarrassing.

Thanks BN27 for ending the latest spin cycle from the resident spin expert when it comes to anything scUM related.

Your last sentence is short and hits it square on the head.

And if all goes according to plan, in 2 years when Justin Boren is donning the scarlet and gray lining up against the skunkbears, and the TV commentators with the story line of their broadcasting lives at their disposal talk about it non-stop, that too will be another embarrassment on a whole different level.

Fuck Michigan!

Bauserman isn't a walkon. He was recruited by Ohio State out of high school but decided to play baseball. Is that what your QB did?
Wait wait wait. I don't think enough people explained it to me. Good thing I had it figured out before, and I alluded to it even. Note:

But at Ohio State, it's a great thing to have a back-up plan involving a freshman walk-on who hasn't seen a football field in three years
Bauserman is a walk-on, and it even says so in your BPWiki thing, who hasn't played football for three years. I don't care if he was recruited by Woody Hayes back from the dead and has his way at school paid for by Bill Gates, he hasn't played football in three years. Ask Drew Henson how well AA ball prepared him to play quarterback in the Big Ten.

It is. Maybe someone else can explain it better.

Bauserman accepts scholorship to tOSU (not tsun)

Bauserman plays baseball instead

Bauserman returns to tOSU (not tsun) sans schollie (bill footed by Pirates org.)

TSUN may have a walk on starting under center this fall that did not pass up a schollie to play Baseball (not Drew Henson, possibly mildly embarrassing, or maybe not)

...or something along those lines...

:so: Still doesn't make him remotely comparable to Sheridan... unless you're in the unending business of making excuses.

OK.....but if Bauserman plays well he can earn a scholarship?

And then the Pirates can use the scholarship money to sign a real baseball player?

This just gets funnier every minute. Then add to it the fact he has a signature with Mike Hart, 0-4 vs. OSU, on an OSU message board.

I honestly cannot even see through the delusion it's so thick.

Let me try since I type slower than the others who explained this.

Bauserman was offered a scholarship for QB at The Ohio State University. He opted for professional baseball. He was told that if that didn't work out, he would have a scholarship/spot on the football squad at a later date. Last year became that later date. However, since his baseball contract is paying for his education, there was no need to give him a scholarship. Only an idiotic institution would give a scholarship to an individual who was already having his school paid for by another entity.

So since we are not an idiotic institution, his only avenue to be on the team was via "walk-on" status. If in your mind using italics to say that he is a walk-on makes it in any way similar to what is happening to your beloved program and the embarrassment of possibly starting a true, no italics needed, walk-on at QB, then you truly need help. That is way beyond the typical spin crap you have brought to this thread.

As for the comparison to Drew Henson, well Joe Bauserman wasn't considered a QB savior like Henson was, and he still isn't. However, more to the point, it was a weak attempt at deflecting from the real issue which is having a walk-on possibly QB scUM in 2008 is quite embarrassing.

It would just be easier to say you made a bad comparison. It will end up saving us all a lot of time.

Well, good for you, you showed me that Joe Bauserman was, in fact, on the football team last year. Even threw a pass in a scrimmage or something. Was not right to say he hadn't played football in three years. More accurate to say he hadn't played football for three years until last year.

None of that makes up for the fact that Joe Bauserman was the fourth-string quarterback last year and figures to be fifth string this year, and spent two or three years playing baseball instead of football, and it's ludicrous to act like he's just as much part of the wonderful "back-up" plan as everyone else.

that's not the point and you know it.

Had Tressel left the program last year, we wouldn't have a legit walk-on in the coversation for starting QB.

That's all.

Why would they talk about Justin Boren? It would just be a story about some walk-on. :wink2:
