None of that makes up for the fact that Joe Bauserman was the fourth-string quarterback last year and figures to be fifth string this year, and spent two or three years playing baseball instead of football, and it's ludicrous to act like he's just as much part of the wonderful "back-up" plan as everyone else.
Really? So Bauserman isn't pushing Henton for the #2 spot this spring? Please stick to talking through your hat about subjects you would possibly know about.

Boeckman is distancing himself from the others...but Bauserman is all over Henton right now.

Shugarts might be done for the spring after getting a nasty leg whip...nothing major, but no need to risk anything. If it was the season, he and Adams would be playing.

Well, good for you, you showed me that Joe Bauserman was, in fact, on the football team last year. Even threw a pass in a scrimmage or something. Was not right to say he hadn't played football in three years. More accurate to say he hadn't played football for three years until last year.

...and to drag this back to the very start of this conversation: He is not competing, or said to be in the lead, to be the starting QB for us this fall.

There is the big difference. I'm not sure what this bickering is even for when you even pointed out he most likely will be 4th string this fall.

Lets see now, walk on starting QB's are not neccessarily a bad thing, Morgan Trent is actually pretty good and Boren may not have been a starter this year anyway.

Someone is starting to remind me of the black knight.

And you know what? If OSU entered the Alamo Bowl with Ben Kascandi as the starter (with Troy suspended, Zwick not healed from Iowa and Boeckman too new & redshirting)... I sure as heck wouldn't be on Okie State boards making excuses for him, let alone scoffing at those who dared to doubt his ability.

I wish Nick well. If UM does not have a better option, I'm happy for the kid to get an opportunity no one expected. But he's going to have to prove he's all that you hope him to be.

oh thank god....I thought you were just stupid. instead you used one tiny part of what I said and misunderstood it, then used that to catapult your way to an "argument" that almost makes sense....in your own mind.

PS - let's pretend Bauserman is a fifth stringer this year. Actually....let's pretend he's last on the depth chart, making him 4th string. That means there are 4 quarterbacks on OSU's roster that are better than the favorite to win the starting job at Michigan. It also means that Terrelle Pryor has 2 players better than him on OSU's roster, and 0 better than him on Michigan's roster......and he still chose to come to Ohio State.

Anything else you want to add to make it any more embarrassing for you?

This unsubstantiated contention doesn't really support your point. According to your contention, OSU's walk-on* (the reason for the asterisk being amply noted) is at the end of the depth chart, providing back-up, to the back-up, to the back-up, and being essentially plan D. Michigan's walk-on (no asterisk needed), has suddenly become plan A, apparently. And this, in your mind, is an equivalent, or even remotely comparable, situation?

Spring game info from mlive.

Just got back. It was "closed to the public" but open to anyone who still decided to show up in the cold rain. Random observations: *Sheridan threw the ball much better than Threet during drills. Much better. However when the actual scrimmage took place Threet looked better. How much of this had to do with him playing with 1st string and Sheridan with 2nd I'm not sure.
*Minor looked good. Grady looked much better than I expected. Leander, meaner; I think he's ready to get back into it.
*TEs Butler and Webb both looked great but dropped every pass that came their way during the scrimmage it seemed. Not "couldn't catch," dropped.
*WRs disappointed a bit. Stonum couldn't really shake Trent and Warren, but those guys are both awfully fast and tough. Matthews looks big and confident and made a few very nice catches during game play. Clemons showed some elusiveness on bubble screens. Otherwise a bit underwhelming.
*Schilling looks a lot leaner and is very motivated. As others have observed, he lines up first to do things in drills and going onto the field. I'm not a good enough judge of O-line play to say much about the rest of the group.
*Schilling, Stevie Brown, and Ezeh all got awards for their work in the offseason and spring practice.
*Trent seemed to be leading the defense in warmups.
*Panter was starting at LB. Looked pretty quick and very big (tall).
*Avery horn looked TERRIBLE to me during drill and warmups, and then turned in most of the big plays during the scrimmage (against 2d team D). Go figure.
*We're using a wacky punt formation with 2-3 yards between each man up on the line and 3 deep in front of the punter. Looked good to me.
*They brought in a Big 10 officiating crew to call penalties for the scrimmage.
*Several recruits were on hand but looked a bit bored and miserable watching drills in the cold rain. They also seemed grumpy when UM staff cleared them off the field and told them to find seats on the rain-soaked steel benches in the stands.
*1st offense moved the ball pretty well against our first D. Whether that's good or bad is a glass half full/empty question
First response, other than 'awesome'

Except that it's definitely good, because the only unit in question is the O. We know the first-team D is going to be great.

UM Spring Game - Video Highlights - Big Ten Network

MM & AA made a very wise decision to depart.

Paging HTM.

Wow! Horrendous...

On some of Sheridan's throws the ball looked like it was actually going vertical!

They need to change those wings on their helmets to mickey mouse ears.

Absolutely pitiful...

November 22nd can't come fast enough.

The slot situation will obviously improve (over old-UM prototype WRs, Clemons & Mathews) when the '08 youngsters arrive (TRob, Odoms, Shaw, etc), but someone still has to get them the ball.

The bowl streak may very way rest on Feagin's shoulders. From what I've seen, neither of the two QBs (Cone is an afterthought) can keep defenses honest downfield, nor with their feet well enough (though Sheridan is better).
