i think the "pancake" line was sarcasm.....but I agree with JWins. It's OK to admit that somebody has a flaw. I'm sure Beanie sucks at kicking 50 yard field goals, so even he has one.
Actually, Beanie was a liability (at times) as a blocker during his frosh year, but was rarely asked to do so. His presence in the huddle showed JT's hand about the tendency to run... which is why the PA to Ginn worked so well in The Game.

Well, I don't think you can gather too much from a scrimmage run after just a couple months of learning a drastically different offensive scheme, but that certainly can't leave a "warm fuzzy" for the um faithful.

The QB derby appears to be a mess right now with no one properly equipped to run DickRod's system. Sheridan can't throw and Threet didn't show a lot more, but may have the ability to at least get the ball to the recievers. I'm not sure why so many are pinning their hopes on Feagin. He wasn't exactly a top notch recruit, and unless I'm mistaken played in a lower division in HS. Maybe DickRod can catch lightning in a bottle for a second time like he did with Pat White, but who's to say White wasn't the exception as opposed to the rule?

I look for a pretty bumpy season up in aa this fall.

The big question will be how will Big-10 defenses react once he gets his guys in place. Big-10 defenses are a notch above what he regularly saw in the Big-East.

Beyond the talent difference, they'll also be much more seasoned at facing various spread & zone read elements, with it coming into style. ILL, NW, OSU, PSU & probably Minn (with MarQueis).

The biggest problem I see with the various spread offenses is when the starting QB gets knocked out the teams collapse. Look at Oregon and WVU...especially WVU when white went down against Pitt.

The point is lets say Michigan does have a decnt QB by the beginning of the season...How long will he last with and inexperienced OL. Have fun running for your life.

Another issue early in the season will be turnovers and offensive penalties. Everybody has to know their assignment in that offense. I could see a 10 penalty 4-5 turnover games against Utah and ND.

That was still an issue in big games for the veteran WVU offense... that USF game could have had about 15+ turnovers between the two squads, but despite numerous recovered fumbles they registered 10.

Which is a hazard of a gimmicky offense like that. So many moving parts lend themselves to turnovers and penalties.

I think they are gonna lose to Utah. Utah plays lot of teams that run spread type offenses and their defense is built for that. Michigan lost a shit load in their back 7...both safeties and their two best LB'ers. Utah will put up around 30 if not more. I just don't see Michigan scoring that much.

I think there are 3-4 definate losses for Michigan this year. I think the first 3 games of this seasom will tell you alot about where Michigan is going. Losing Pryor to OSU was the single biggest recruiting loss for Michigan I have ever seen.

Another thing to consider is that Michigans special teams is nothing to brag about except for Mesko.

Not gonna be a problem if you ask most scUM fans. For some reason, they think their defense is gonna be amazing this year. i think the front 4 will be very solid, and the corners are pretty good (yes, Trent included, he's improved drastically from '06), but safety and LB's are big question marks IMO.

I tend to agree. Pryor could give that offense and instant impact. But again, most scUM fans claimed they didn't want him after it became clear he wasn't heading to aa becasue he was too much of a "drama queen". :roll1:

Eh, maybe, maybe not. One thing DickRod did do was bring in some speed and athletes with what he was able to recruit this winter. How that translates to the return game remains to be seen. If I remember correctly, the kicker who replaced Gingell (sp?) was solid. Is he back?

I hope he puts his starters in on special teams...especially starting defensive players.

I'm pretty sure their PK is back. I cannot remember WVU being all that great on special teams. They might have been decent in the return game but on kicking and kick defense some of the games I have seen they sucked pretty bad. The Pitt game sticks out in my mind. I didn't follow WVU so I don't know how much RR focuses on it.

I heard the Horn kid might be geting some return duty for RR.

Funny considering the great lengths the same fans go to defending dick rod and what can only be described as a drama filled exit from WVU. (not that anyone here needs to be reminded of that irony)

There is plenty of hypocracy in most m*ch*g*n fans, particularly since DickRod came to town and their reaction to the Boren situation. That was absolutely hilarious.

Yeah. Losing your most experienced lineman is a good thing. A walk-on starting QB isn't cause for concern. DickRod is a class act.

It's an interesting time to be from tsun.

I just hope that whenever they fire DickRod (4-5 years?) that they actually do hire a class act that will do justice to the greatest rivalry in sports.

The offenses 41 points hid a 35 point blitz on UM's defense. Heck, Crable had the audacity to call out Herbie for doubting their defenes after giving up that many points.

3 less points than Texas '04. 45 less total yards. Winning heals all things, including defensive breakdowns.

Very true, dynamic on film, in HS. Will the blocking be there for them? Even Teddy can be bottled up, and was somewhat, when the blocking suffers.

KC Lopata. I believe he has one year left. Gotta feel for Bryan Wright being no more than a kickoff guy.

Scum has lots of problems .They have no experience to speak of on their OL at all A couple redshirts and some new guys. that will take some doing to get them to play well, couple that with a brand ne Qb and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them have a losing season. They probably won't but it wouldn't surprise me any.
