What your transitive analysis does not account for is the fact that every single one of these teams have southern speed and/or SEC speed!PogueMahone;939288; said:UF ... Okie State ... Troy ... Texas Tech ... Tennessee ... Arkansas ... Florida ... Ole Miss ... Vandy

The D deserves a clean sheet (no safety, no special teams scores) and I think this is a very good week to get that scoring average down.

We just can't compete. Even Lee Corso knows this. :(

The factors I see working against the Bucks in this aspect are OSU offense: they'll be scoring at will on that putrid gopher "defense." The D might be on the field a lot. Granted I don't see Minny's offense taking advantage of this and so I think the D will get many, many, many 3 and outs.It would be our second straight shutout of the goofers, too. With the possible exception of Kent State or Illinois, this is the team we have the best chance of keeping off the scoreboard.

OCBucksFan;939711; said:Why? I mean AB is just being honest, we haven't played a ranked opponent yet. Washington has shown they are nothing special and it wasn't really a "tough" victory, Tressel handled it the way he always handles that QB who thinks about running, hit them like they are a linebacker a few times and make em think twice.
I don't think anyone is dumber for reading it, I think it's realistic. Be optimistic, don't be a homer.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
NEAL C. LAURON | Dispatch
Linebacker James Laurinaitis, leveling Northwestern's C.J. Bacher, says Ohio State's highly ranked defense still has room to improve.
Ohio State might be No. 8 in the polls, but its defense ranks second nationally.
Four games into the season, the Buckeyes trail only second-ranked Louisiana State in total defense. LSU is giving up 161.5 yards per game; OSU is at 177.75. No other major college defense is under the 200 mark.
The Buckeyes defense should feel good about itself, All-America linebacker James Laurinaitis said, but only to a point.
"I think we've had a great start. I think we obviously need to improve on some things," the junior co-captain said. "Our special teams, we were good but we were not great (against Northwestern, giving up a second-half, opening kickoff return for a touchdown). We weren't perfect.
