2007 NFL Draft (Projections/Mock Drafts/Evaluations/Draft)

thats why i heard McKay is starting to talk highly about Gaines Adams at #3 so that the Lions wont trade the #2, as the lions are really high on him and if the falcons say they are moving up for adams then the lions wont trade down to #4 with the bucs.
I don't think the Browns will trade down unless they get a king's ransom which I fon't want to see Atl. give them. I think the #2 pick is the key to the entire thing, the Lions want to go down but not too far down. If there is a deal to be made it is with Detroit IMO.

Brady Quinn "I'm Going to be a Bust"

The Onion

"While it's true I have impressive arm strength, and that I'm willing to stand up in the pocket against the rush, the fact remains that my lack of downfield accuracy gets me in trouble on the deep throws and my field vision is suspect," Quinn told draft evaluators from the Raiders, Browns, and Cardinals."Combine that with the enormous starting bonus I'll receive and the tendency for teams to try and develop quarterbacks long after they should give up, and I really just have 'bust' written all over me."

You have to love it when the satire seems more true than false.

Yahoo.com latest mock draft: Link

Notable Buckeye Picks:

22. Dallas Cowboys ? Ohio State wide receiver/return man Ted Ginn Jr. The Cowboys have secured most of their positions of need through free agency, which opens the door for either a deal down or for them taking a gamble on a player like Ginn or even Marshawn Lynch. Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn are getting up in age, and for Jerry Jones to find a playmaker like this still on the board, it could provide them the type of all-around playmaker their offense has not seen since the days of Calvin Hill.

This one surprised me, but was real happy to see him move up to the First Round, which he deserves:

32. Indianapolis Colts ? Ohio State wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez. Gonzalez is a smart, athletic, high-character receiver that would fit perfectly for their No. 3 role now that Brandon Stokley is gone. Gonzalez has moved himself into contention to be taken as high as Dallas' choice at No. 22.

Second Round:
11. Buffalo: Ohio State RB Antonio Pittman

It was unfortunate to see that in the eyes of the "experts" on Yahoo, that Pitcock had dropped from the 2nd Round.

Brady Quinn: "I'm Going to Be a Bust"

DUBLIN, OH?Top draft prospect Brady Quinn, a strong-armed quarterback out of Notre Dame who is expected to be taken with one of the first five picks in the draft, told scouts interviewing him at his family home Monday that he would in all likelihood be a huge NFL bust. "While it's true I have impressive arm strength, and that I'm willing to stand up in the pocket against the rush, the fact remains that my lack of downfield accuracy gets me in trouble on the deep throws and my field vision is suspect," Quinn told draft evaluators from the Raiders, Browns, and Cardinals."Combine that with the enormous starting bonus I'll receive and the tendency for teams to try and develop quarterbacks long after they should give up, and I really just have 'bust' written all over me." While Quinn recommended teams look to solid prospects such as quarterback Jamarcus Russell, tackle Joe Thomas, and running back Adrian Peterson, Raiders owner Al Davis is reportedly more interested than ever in signing Quinn.

DD.comment: While we realize predicting a 7th round draft is impossible, we did our best to match team needs and the best available prospects. Also, we listed the players by team (not 1 to 225) in order to make this mock easier for our readers to digest and post in cyberspace. We think this mock is good for starting debates on N.F.L. team message boards.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I applaud Joe Thomas' decision - day out with dad on draft day fishing for salmon, catching the picks on the radio, sounds just right.

Absolutely, makes me want the Browns to draft him even more. He seems like a class act and down to earth guy. I hope the Brownies take either him or Calvin.

Falcons eyeing Johnson, but can they move up again in draft?

PAUL NEWBERRY

Associated Press

ATLANTA - The Falcons want to turn Michael Vick into one of those regular quarterbacks, a guy who looks to throw the ball instead of just running with it.
Of course, the transformation would be a whole lot easier if Vick had a go-to receiver on the other end of his passes.
Hmmm, wonder where the Falcons could find that sort of player?
They don't have to look very far.
Calvin Johnson, who grew up in the Atlanta area and spent the last three years at nearby Georgia Tech, sure would look good wearing that odd-looking bird on his helmet. But the Falcons have no chance of landing the all-world receiver unless they jump a few more spots in Saturday's draft.
