2007 NBA Finals - Cavs v Spurs

Basketball star LeBron James and his girlfriend Savannah Brinson welcomed their second son, Bryce Maximus James, on Thursday, a rep tells PEOPLE.

The 8-lb, 6-oz baby was born a 12:51 a.m. in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The couple also have 2-year-old LeBron Jr.

"LeBron and Savannah are overjoyed with the birth of their son," a rep for the couple says, "and are looking forward to bringing him home to his big brother, LeBron Jr."

James, 22, a forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers, is in the thick of the NBA Finals, with his team trailing the San Antonio Spurs three-games-to-none in the best-of-seven series.
Congratulations to LeBron & the family!

This question may have already been raised and if so I apologize. But, can someone please help me understand what Mike Brown thinks a PG should do in a game? Here I was convinced that Larry Hughes was useless throughout the playoffs and I know part of it was due to his injury. But after having watched Boobie play on Tuesday it appears to be that Brown just does not want his PG to do anything but bring the ball up the court and pass it around. He does not want him to shoot, penetrate, create or do anything a good PG like Nash or Parker does. I realize he did not shoot particularly well, but I think part of that has to do with what seems like Brown's coaching philosophy. When Boobie was in there in previous games in the Playoffs he got the ball and scored, he was our most consistent scorer for a time. He may have been filling in the PG spot, but his whole demeanor and the way he was approaching the offense in Game 3 just seemed vastly different and he just seemed to be taken out of the game, like he was given specific instructions on how to play, instead of him just being able go out and do what he had been so successful doing until then. WTF is going on?

Have not heard the rumors lately, but it would not surprise me. I REALLY wanted Redd when he was a free agent 2 seasons ago and we ended up signing Hughes. I was so pissed to find out that if we would have just done a little more for Redd during his visit to Cleveland he might have signed here. From what I heard, not saying it is true, but when he arrived for his visit, none of the top brass or even LeBron was there to greet him or spend time with him. He was really taken back by that allegedly. Who knows, in the Mike Brown offense how effective he may have even been.

"The Mike Brown offense" is as bad as the "Butch Davis Building a Franchise"

I want to see just a real number 2 guy down low. I love Boobie and he is making big shots as a rookie. I think putting him in his first starting gig during the biggest game of the World Championships was a bad call though. In game two Boobie was attacking the hole and then popping a shot as soon as he caught it it. In game 3 he looked very hesistant at the catch and release game ( did he even have a catch and release attempt?) and was hitting the hole at the wrong times, he kept driving while Duncan or Horry could slide over.

We have made 158millions dollars since LBJs arrival. I think it would be possible to go get a high contract star to take the heat off. Normally I would say our starters are good enough, its the bench thats not deep enough; with the Cavs it just feels like a patchwork team of players with individual assignments. The starting cast doesnt even really run deep in talent.

Cavs grieve for lost chances

With title hopes dim, they also will play tonight to avoid embarrassment

CLEVELAND - In the classic stages of loss, the Cavaliers remain in the ``shock'' phase. They're trying to put off ``acceptance'' for as long as possible.
If the enormity of the task in these NBA Finals became clear in Games 1 and 2 in San Antonio, the Cavs' chances of being competitive in the series took a major hit with Tuesday's emotional Game 3 loss as the Spurs took a 3-0 lead.
Drained by could've, should've and would've moments, the club struggled to pick up the pieces Wednesday in an effort to regain some confidence to avoid a sweep in tonight's Game 4. The word ``pride'' was being kicked around everywhere, and there were attempts at optimism coming from some corners, but the mood hanging over Quicken Loans Arena was unavoidably dark.

Cavs' season great no matter what

But being swept by Spurs would be discouraging. Respect for LeBron grows as he shuns excuses

By Terry Pluto

Scribbles in my Finals notebook...
? Was there any reason to believe the Cavaliers could beat the San Antonio Spurs and win the NBA title? They entered the series as enormous underdogs. For all the gnashing of teeth about Larry Hughes, coach Mike Brown, lousy shooting and general frustration, which is the better team? And don't you think the Cavs overachieved to make it this far? No matter what happens, this has been the best season in the 37-year history of the franchise.
? That said, it would be discouraging for the Cavs to lose tonight and be swept out of the Finals. Only two teams since 1990 have been wiped out in four games: the Houston Rockets over the Orlando Magic in 1995, and the Los Angeles Lakers over the New Jersey Nets in 2002. The Magic have not made it back to the Finals. The Nets returned in 2003, losing to the Spurs in six games.

I still think that Brown's coaching is more to blame for Boobie's lack of success in game 3. Something had to have been said to him. He did not shoot a single free throw the entire game. When do you ever see Hughes attacking the hole when he plays the Point?

The story I heard was that Redd liked Cleveland, but he knew that he wasn't ever going to be the #1 in Cleveland with LBJ. Redd apparently wanted to be the main option, and that wasn't going to happen in C-town, so he stayed with the Bucks.

And the Bucks could offer him an extra year.

I am sure those were both big reasons, but if the Cavs didn't give him the first class treatment when he was visiting, that was a huge mistake.
