2007 NBA Finals - Cavs v Spurs

Are Suns fans still stupidly blaming the refs or has their anger turned rightly to Amare who deserves to be blamed for his bonehead play?

They'll never go after Amare, you should know that . There is definitely still a lot of bitterness, especially after watching the Spurs doing what they just did.

How many times have you ever seen a fan base turn on their superstar for one mistake? As long as he keeps producing it shouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't call him a superstar. yes, yes, he was all NBA, but he's a chump without Nash. If he's a superstar so are about 20 players in the league.

How many times can Marshall miss open shots?

Marshall 33% from the field in the playoffs
Hughes 34% in the playoffs
Jones 29%
Snow 29%

Not just in the finals, but the whole playoffs. You'll never win with 4 turds that get as much pt as they do, that shoot as bad as they do. Marshall and Jones are both horrible defensively. How the fuck do you let that stiff Oberto open for two free, wide open layups, late in the game (and give him an and one on one of them) ? Why have your two worst defenders on the floor for so long late in the game? By the time dumbass Brown brought Gooden back in, it was too late. They weren't going to beat the Spurs but why , when it's so late in a big game, are your three worst shooters on the floor?

Nobody will want any of those four turds so we'll have to watch their ugly play for at least another year or 2 ( more in Hughes' case)

A dejected Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James walks down the court after a shot at the end of the third quarter was disallowed during the Cavaliers 83-82 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday, June 14, 2007, in Cleveland, Ohio. CLEVELAND - There was finally a championship won in Cleveland.
Of course, the trophy won't be staying.
The San Antonio Spurs finished the job on the Cavaliers Thursday, sweeping them out of the NBA Finals with an 83-82 victory in Game 4.
The Cavs died hard, mounting a furious fourth-quarter comeback attempt, but it merely will be a footnote in history as the Spurs popped the champagne on their fourth championship in the past nine years.
Much as the Cavs tried to earn a measure of respect by preventing the Spurs from celebrating on the floor at Quicken Loans Arena, the fingerprints on the final victory mirrored the course of the rest of series.
The Spurs made the clutch plays, and the Cavs were unable to put forth their best effort to try to stop them. Among strings of missed open shots, unforced turnovers, and chunks of crunch time when they weren't able to corral a rebound, the Cavs crumbled.
As he presented the Larry O'Brien trophy and then the Finals Most Valuable Player Award to Spurs point guard Tony Parker, NBA Commissioner David Stern correctly called the Spurs ``a team for the ages.''

That was driving me crazy. You can tell Marshall was not handling the pressure of the Finals well, so after he missed open shot after open shot why the heck did Brown leave him on the court??? And those misses were not just rimming out, he was drawing AIR!!! I was screaming for Gooden to come in just to help Andy on the boards.

Then Brown doesn't foul with a minute left basically say "ok team, we tried our best let's get this over quickly"

Now another offseason is coming up where we are cap strapped and will be hard pressed to change the roster unless we do something funky (like doing sign and trade deals with Andy and/or Sasha.)

One more great example of how Brown could not coach a close game in the final few minutes. Waisted 2 possesions by not fouling, waisted one possesion by not preparing our team few an inbound foul.

I though Brown was going in the right direction, now I think he is horrible after seeing a very well coached Spurs team just fuck us over.
