2007 NBA Finals - Cavs v Spurs

14-0 beat me to it. Consistent. That's something it isn't. This is just embarassing right now. I think of all the finals defeats--football, college basketball, this might be the worst.

He dribbles the ball out of bounds. Incredible. They can't get a rebound down the stretch. What the hell. Wow.

What a year in sports in Ohio.

His inside game is better than MJ. If he developed a consistent oustside game (similar to what he displayed in game 7 of the ECF) he would be better than MJ.
I guess this might be one of those where we will have to agree to disagree. IMO, Jordan was a better defender, rebounds equal, shooter goes to MJ at anyplace on the floor, assists go to LBJ, Killer instinct hands down MJ, free throws MJ, don't forget MJ had an inside game the last 5-6 years of his career when he went to that fade away jumper that nobody could block.

As for the Cavs....maybe next year...maybe. I think everyone takes for granted how hard it is to get to the finals. Sometimes you don't get there because of bad luck, injuries at bad times, calls go against you. They need guys who don't miss from 3. They need a post player that does nothing but dunk the ball because as good as Z can be shooting the mid range he can't put the ball down with authority. LeBron needs to work on his shot in the offseason. They should be back in the coming years but unlike some I don't think it is a given. Great year by the Cavs though.

I'm not talking about right now. Hell, he's nowhere close to MJ right now. But if he consistently shot like he did in game 7 of the ECF it'd be close. You are definitely right about the defense though. I forgot to consider that.

This series just shows what an ENORMOUS gap there is between the eastern and western conferences.

That's all well and good for people at ESPN to talk about, and it explains how the Cavs were able to get to the Finals in the first place, but the gap I'm more concerned about is the one between the Cavs and the championship-level of basketball that the Spurs play.

Congratulations to the Spurs fan(s) here, and thanks to the Cavs for a fun season.

My bad I thought we were comparing MJ to LBJ overall. Yeah you are right then if he kept playing like he did in game 7 he would be the 2nd coming. I think it is possible for him to get there hell he is really young still but he needs to put in the work and effort to get to that point.

Lebron is an average defender which means he's a lazy one b/c with this athletic ability he should be one of the better ones.

I hope LeBron and his teamates stay and watch the Spurs celebrate on their home floor because that is just the kind of embarassing/pissed off motivation that can change a player for the rest of their life and give him that killer instinct. That is what I would be doing if I was on the Cavs team. Just my opinion though.

i think one other thing that all great defenders have in common is intelligence. not book smarts, but court smarts. you have to be able to anticipate.

The only person on the Spurs that I am happy for is Finley. Everyone else sucks. Watch out for the Suns next year Ginobili:biggrin:

Are Suns fans still stupidly blaming the refs or has their anger turned rightly to Amare who deserves to be blamed for his bonehead play?
