Game Thread (2004) Game Seven: Indiana - 10/23/04 (W, 4-3/1-3)

Read my last sentence it says those (not just Smith)who play well today should be given credit for playing well today. I don't care if it's Indiana, unless you can guarentee my that Indiana is not going to try and win this game. Clarity I agree with what you're syaing, but I do not agree with those who have stated well it's against Indiana. I don't care which QB plays as long as he's does the job well against the team we're playing. I can take an overthrown ball, it's the underthrown ducks that you would not expect from a highly sought after QB.

That is my point Hub...our offense is THE worst so this showing should "count".
Of course it counts.. but seriously, isn't Indiana one of the worst defenses in the BigTen? I know they have one of the worst pass defenses in the nation. So while it does count, you have to be tempered before you proclaim someone the savior.

Sounds like we're on the same page.

Smith does look good. Not all QBs are going to against a Big Ten team, even if it is Indiana. Unfortunately, those who are most overzealous about making the QB issue personal, end up making it easy for moderates to misconstrue what other moderates are saying.

Cincy I agree and may have had my own kneejerk reaction.

There has just been a line drawn in the sand by too many posters and I refuse to join one "camp" or the other.

If I misread your intent, I apologize.

Football should be the only issue in this QB deal and I am sad to say that isn't the case with many of the posters

TEMPERED! Woo! Everyone read that word, because that's the issue! We can't read too much into our successes in this game. But we can sure enjoy them, and feel cautiously optimistic about looking good, even against poor competition.

We didn't look good against Northwestern. We didn't look good against Iowa. We are looking good (scratch that, my expectations are just shit low), we're looking IMPROVED against Indiana, and that's the first good news we've had in weeks.

Absolutely Troy is part of that improvement. As is Pittman. As is Gonzalez. As is (insert one of a good half doz

Holy shit what a catch that was.

Almost was. Nice effort Holmes, wow.

Where was I? Yeah -- insert one of a good half dozen other players there.
