Penn State targets Thomas Holley, Mike Gesicki highlight recruits attending Michigan game

Penn State's sellout crowd for tomorrow night's clash with No. 18 Michigan will include some of the Nittany Lions' most valued recruiting targets.
Steve Wiltfong of 247sports.com shares the whole list, but two names deserve separate mention: five-star defensive tackle Thomas Holley and four-star tight end Mike Gesicki.
For Holley, this is the first official visit he'll take and it precedes a trip to Ohio State next weekend. In a heated battle for Holley's services, Penn State gets the advantage of a first impression under ideal circumstances.

the latest on holley. a positive view of his trip to Columbus though he doesn't reveal which way he is leaning, if any.
I think Meyer said that half time was not that pleasant. Not sure that would endear recruits.

Isn't his other favorite notre dame? Urban and staff must be 1000% times more calm than seeing brian kelly on the sidelines and during his halftimes. His head may explode during a game
Abraham Lincoln football player Thomas Holley receives All-American jersey from Under Armour during ceremony at Coney Island school
Holley only started playing football last season after he was a standout basketball player in middle school.

When Thomas Holley transferred last year from Christ the King to Lincoln HS for his junior year, the former middle school basketball prodigy was reuniting with his AAU coach, Dwayne (Tiny) Morton. But Morton recognized the 6-4, 300-pound athlete had potential to be a force on the football field. So Morton called Lincoln football coach Shawn O’Connor and told him to give Holley a look.
Holley finally saw game action in Week 4 last season but played in just eight games in a reserve role, yet his highlight film sparked massive interest among college coaches, and he currently holds more than 30 major Division I football scholarship offers.
Holley, now a senior, was presented with an Under Armour All-American jersey at Lincoln Tuesday in a gym packed with family, friends and students. He’ll be one of 80 seniors to play in the All-American game on ESPN Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. at 4 p.m. Holley is Lincoln’s fourth All-American in football.
“I would have never guessed I’d be here in a million years, coming from being one of the top basketball players in the country, now switching to football and being one of the top football players in the country,” Holley said. “To have the best of both worlds and be able to be at the top level of both, not many people can say that.”

Short of something major from a tectonic perspective, the proximity thing is one Urban just can't address.
