Scottsdale Chaparral senior receiver/cornerback/kick returner Davonte' Neal said he will take a recruiting trip to Ohio State on Jan. 13, then take a trip to Arkansas the following weekend.

He already has visited Notre Dame. He can take two other recruiting trips. But he is leaving it open at this point. He said "it's going to be a while" before he make a decision on where he'll go to college.

"This is the beginning of the recruiting for me," Neal said after a Wednesday workout at his father's gym, The Athletes' Factory, in north Scottsdale. "I'm not going to rush the process. I'm going to enjoy it."

Neal, a two-time Gatorade Arizona Football Player of the Year, said he is now open to both Arizona State and Arizona.

Hiring Charlie Ragle is one more in-state recruiting victory for Arizona

Carey?s choice of Arizona over ASU should have been a signal up north that changes needed to be made earlier and, if Chaparrals Davonte Neal follows Urban Meyer to Ohio State as is rumored, then that would have to go as another victory for Arizona.

In recruiting battles, players who skip your rival are almost as good as the ones who come to you.

Still not a bad feeling...1,000 yds rushing AND 1,000 yds receiving...Kids a baller.
Wasn't a knock at all on Davonte. He looks like a stud. My personal preference is Diggs>Davonte>Caleb but what do I know...just some OSU fan on an internet board.

Would love to see the class end with Neal (ATH) , Dodson (OL), Oconnor (OL) and Williams (LB).

Reminds me of Thomas from Oregon. Coming out Thomas played RB, WR, and S. Neal plays RB, WR, and CB. About the same size and and speed. Reports are that he's the fastest player at the UA practices and he's playing both WR and CB. Getting huge praise. Someone even stated that he looks like the "pound for pound best player"...

Would be a huge pickup for sure.
