I don't have the reason why #OhioState won't be taking Davonte Neal, I just know he tried to commit and couldn't. Well sourced. #RivalsNSD

What?! Thats crazy. We are actually turning down studs now? Times they have changed. "They are 'a changin" doesnt even describe it. If its because we got Diggs, I am speechless. Urban Meyer is ridiculous.

Something must have happened today... Urban slipped about Neal being with us earlier today (maybe that's why!?! - potential violation if he commits b/c Urban talked about him before that, I have no idea...). Or maybe he did something to turn him off, or we simply ran out of room. I hope it's the latter and as BestBuck said, hopefully because he prefers Diggs and we have him in the bag.

I was thinking that too. I would say a slip up shouldn't be taken so seriously, but the NCAA gets butt hurt over the most retarded things.

So ND could win by default. Lame.

While people have posited several great theories in this thread, what The BPRT is hearing on our end is vastly different. I'm sure the whole story will be told at some point but suffice it to say OSU moved on...

If I'm Urban and they did deny Neal today, I am letting Diggs know in my final sales pitch "We turned down a phenomenal talent today in Devonte Neal so we could sign you." I bet that would be a very effective pitch lol.

In short, it comes down to 'trust the coaches.' After the caliber and quantity of recruits brought in during the past two months, how can you argue with that? If we're moving on, it could be a million different things - prefer a different recruit, someone else has committed taking the last spot, character issues, personality fit, etc. They're looking for the best people, the best Buckeyes. They've more than proven the ability to better tOSU football program and I see zero reason to think they're doing any differently here.

What else is the guy going to say? It really doesn't do him much good to make a stink. All it would do is bring negative attention around his son's decision.

My personal prediction, based on no evidence at all is that:
- all is well
- both Neal and Diggs can sign if they want to
- no NCAA issue
- statistically, an additional slot will free up by camp
- no way Marcus would have been allowed to sign if it jeopardized Neal or Diggs

If we really have the one spot left......and the kid wanted to commit today and had been a target.......I don't feel good about denying him unless Diggs gave Urban a verbal this past weekend during his visit. In that case, why wouldn't Diggs just go ahead and sign today? Oh well....TRUST IN URBAN.

This is how I feel about the situation. I'm very confused, and if there was character issues you would think we would've stopped recruiting him before now. All very confusing and I don't like the feel of it right now.
