'11 D.C. DT Kevin McReynolds (UCLA Signee)

Numbers have been decent, minus '07 and '10. With the writing on the wall with Mobley, we needed more than 1 true DT in the last class. But it's '11 and we need 2 true DT's. Bennett is essentially in...I would find it hard to pass on McReynolds regardless of what Hale does. I am under the impression that we only get 2 in the end though, with Tommy Brown and Underwood able to play DT as well if need be.

Well we have starter issues in 3 wr sets, let alone the backups.

Jt hoards safeties yet there are only about 3 you want to see on the field each year.

Osu isn't stacked at dt, but I'd say they've been bringing in good numbers. If Floyd had not fallen prey to the chomper, if say the dt depth was perfect.

Or even if Rowell or Whitner got their grades in order, our depth would be perfect as well! But that's nether here nor there

I'd love to get Kevin on our squad, he's the best DL prospect we're going after IMO. Would love to get him and Bennett, at least on interior DL this class(as I figure the rest of our committed DL prospects are going to be DEs).

Chase Farris?

I'm confused by all the talk for the last page or two. Is everyone forgetting that we already have Chase Farris locked up? It seems like everyone is talking about needs at DT, and who we need to bring in, but nobody is factoring Farris into the equation.

Farris is a done deal, and people seem pretty sure Bennett is ours at this point. Do you guys think DT would become a limited spot after that, or would we let any of the existing offers stand? In other words, would the staff be open to accepting commitments from all of Farris/Bennett/McReynolds/Hale?

From where I'm sitting, I think the coaches are pretty certain we get Bennett and we get either McReynolds or Hale. Whoever commits first. Now if we strike out on both Mac and Hale, another offer may go out to another prospect at DT. I feel the coaches are gunning for three DTs this year, since we struck out on Floyd last year and picked up Hankins only at the DT position. Farris, Bennett, and __________. The focus this year definetly appears to be the trenches. Thus far they have done quite well

I like Farris at DE honestly, he might outgrow it but the staff is telling him DE right now I'm pretty sure.

I agree, I always assumed Farris was a SDE. I never really considered him a DT, I thought of him in the Cam Heyward role, where we start him on the outside and move him in for obvious passing downs

Honestly, I don't think there is a Cam Heyward role...Cam is unique and I don't see anybody in our current pipeline quite like him.

2011 Defensive Tackle, Kevin McReynolds Starting a Youth Program | U Recruit | College Recruiting By U

2011 defensive tackle, Kevin McReynolds has decided to take action into his own hands by starting a program to help underprivileged children in his community. "We're the future, and I want to be a part of changing that direction for the kids coming up. I want to start something that changes people's lives, and gives hope to kids that feel like everyone has given up on them," Kevin told me.

Kevin is active in a few programs in his school currently, but really wanted to do more, and give back some of what he's received from the people around him. "Football has really changed my life, and it's a game that can teach you so many life lessons. The environment we're in today, and the direction teens are going is not a good direction. Things aren't going to change unless we change it ourselves," he said. While he doesn't have the exact plans set in place yet, he is shooting for the summer to get a program going.
