'10 OH ATH Spencer Ware (LSU signee)

One of my good friends has a brother who coaches at Princeton. I talked to him about Ware last night. He said the Colerain transfer is likely, but not set in stone, and that his brother is still trying to convince him to stay at PHS. He thought it was more about having a better chance at a state championship, and perhaps moving to RB, rather than family issues. He said that OSU was the first school to contact Ware, at the exact second that a phone call was permissible. UC was on call waiting while the Buckeyes offered! My friend said he asked his brother what position he would have Ware play on a team that was stacked, and he said HB. Ware has been playing safety at times, and is said to be a great tackler. He is also reportedly a great kid, and I'd love to see him in Scarlet and Gray. I'll post updates if I hear anything else.

Well, it looks like the credibility and reputation I've earned on this board is now out the window.

I'll never trust that source again.

My apologies to the buckeyeplanet community and, most especially, my apoligies to Spencer Ware and his family.

The more I watch film of him, the more I get excited about him playing RB. He's got some serious speed, jukes, and is patient with waiting for his blockers. It's not his power... it's just that he's hard to catch. And with as strong an arm as he has, running a halfback pass with Spencer could be lethal.

I sure hope we can convince him to stay home. This kid is a playmaker and a potential game changer when he's on the field.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Army Analysis: National Combine standouts (free)

ATH Spencer Ware, 5-9/210, Cincinatti Princeton

ASSETS: Plays quarterback but his physique will remind you of T. J. Duckett at the same stage.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: Just needs to find what position best suits him at the next level; I believe it will be as a power RB in college.
WHAT WAS MOST IMPRESSIVE AT COMBINE: He really had very soft hands for a muscular back.
CONCLUSION: Has four offers at this time and is best suited to be an every-down power back at the next level. Look for him to be recruited by teams that still like smash mouth football.
