'10 OH ATH Spencer Ware (LSU signee)

With his size and shiftiness, he reminds me of Javon Ringer. He explodes through the hold and can make 'em miss. On top of that, he shows a mean stiff arm and ability to lower the shoulder. Great player...I am higher on Corey Brown but even still, I would love to see us land Ware.

The way he runs looks eerily similar to how Troy Smith used to run early in his college career. He used to make people look stupid because he knew exactly when and where to cut. Spencer's cut from a lot of the same cloth. I'd love to see him at RB in S&G.

Kid is a star at the next level...

The vision is awesome...He doesn't always just bounce it to the outside...He has the ability to set up guys that are 2 or 3 defenders away...After he makes one cut to the inside (which I like), then he is back out, or spinning and he has the ability to pick up his feet and not get tackled easily...He shows he can run out the gun, or he could run out of singleback...He showed the ability to score on the goalline, duck it up in there, he will run guys over, The stiff arm planted a couple kids to the ground, the spin move is very quick and keeps his feet up when he comes out of it...His feet don't stop on contact...

The kids he is going up against are kids from Colerain, Centerville, Hamilton, Moeller, Anderson, Wayne, Lakota...

They are not slouches and he is making them look like fools...

I will hate it so much if we lose him...And I have no problem saying top 50 player and put him in the discussion with Turner and Norwell for tops in the state...He showed all tools you want in a running back and he is standing at 5'11'' 210 with that athleticism and speed...

Probably legit top five player, but it's going to be hard to find a position for him. To me, he looks like either a big time QB at a mid major like Indiana or a slot WR at a top program like OSU. It's one thing to have running lanes when dropping back at QB, but will he be able to find holes on the trenches as a RB? On a lot of these runs, he's getting ten yards by simply getting to the outside over the HS defensive end. This is not to say that he isn't a fine athlete. He can certainly be a potent weapon for us. But normally you know a RB when you see one, and Ware looked more like a randle-el than a Beanie or Boom.

I've seen Spencer in person, and the comparisons to Troy are warranted, but I think Spencer's actually got quicker feet. He is very nimble in heavy traffic, kind of reminds me of Marshall Faulk in terms of making quick cuts. I personally would like to see him get a shot at QB in college, although it seems he's already put his focus on RB. His agility belies his power; at ~210lbs, he's a load that can take on tacklers. He's a durable athlete who has proven he can lay the wood playing safety. I'd love to see him in Scarlet and Gray. The staff has made thier interest known, I think it's just a matter of whether there will be an opening for him. He should be a success in college, no matter where he goes.

Kid is super talented. I've been trying to find more film on this guy for a long time and finally have it, he's an absolute star at the next level. Strong, quick, amazing vision, power, deceptive speed (I mean that he doesn't look like he's running that fast, but constantly outrunning people)....he has it all. For sure top 5 in the state, probably anywhere in the top 3 along with Norwell and Turner, wherever people rank them. I hope his southern bias doesn't keep, as he is the real deal. Amazing, amazing talent that hopefully we can bring in...

Film was great but he just doesn't look that big in the video as far as weight wise. Its not a big deal really just to me he does not look 210. He looks about 180. Either way his lateral agility is pretty darn good.

His physique is so close to T. Smith's, it's scary. Plus, he may be an inch shorter. He's definitely a solid 200+ pounder, his frame could handle up around 220-225. But as I said, he's really light on his feet. He runs like a smaller RB, but he's got good power.

That was during the season... and he measured in at the Army AA Underclassmen combine this year at 5'11" 227.

Hicks, Ware in a class of their own - Insider - ESPN

Spencer Ware, athlete, junior, Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton
Ware is an amazing athlete. He looks like a linebacker or thick strong safety but plays quarterback for the Vikings. He is effective both in the air and on the ground, he had nearly 3,000 total yards and just under 30 touchdowns in 2008. Ware proved how much of an athlete he is by posting the top SPARQ score Saturday with a 115.86. His 38-foot, 6-inch power ball toss and 37 ? inch vertical proves he has strength and power in both his upper and lower body.
Although Ware most likely won't play quarterback at the next level, there is no doubt he is all around weapon for any college program. Ware is being recruited by schools such as Wisconsin, West Virginia, North Carolina State, Cincinnati, Duke and of course the home-state Buckeyes.

Just watched his highlights and wow! I'm officially on the bandwagon. He even handed out a few stiff-arms  /sarcasm/ Now, if he would just stop wearing Michigan gear maybe he'll get an offer. /sarcasm/

edit: Well he already has an offer so, uh, I'm an idiot
