Coach T had a visit with Morgan Moses....... it's looking good hes coming for an offical visit in FEB

JT's visit with Morgan Moses came a little from left field for me. I couldn't be happier about it. If I remember right, we were looking pretty good to land him last year, before his grades became an issue. Now that things are sorted out, much like Carlos Hyde and Jamel Turner, and going to school with them, things couldn't look better IMO. It probably comes down to whether he makes an official visit to tOSU or not. Looking at the numbers, having Hendersen, James and Moses, and looking for at least two of them....I think it is a good number of candidates to have. If we are lucky we may end up with all three!

It had slipped my mind that he attended the same school as JT and CH. WOW!! Hopefully, that should go a long way in persauding him to attend tOSU.

Sort of confused; this says he committed to Virginia. Is this the same person or is there a mistake of some sort?

Morgan Moses - Yahoo! Sports

Edit: Didn't qualify after committing. Amazing what you can learn by reading old posts. What's the chance that he goes to UVA if he's qualified since he originally committed there?

No, same guy. He committed to UVA last year, but then spent the fall at Fork Union. With UVA getting rid of their coach, he opened things up again and has been taking visits.

Moses confirms OSU's interest

By Eric Guimaraes
OL Morgan Moses (6-7 320) of Fork Union Prep confirmed tonight that Jim Tressel of Ohio State was in his home for a visit. Moses says that Ohio State is now one of the schools on his list. He also says that he is still hearing from USC and the interest is mutual. Moses is now looking at USC, Ohio State, Virginia, and Florida. He did not indicate any favorites. Moses was looking to enroll early and either go to Virginia or Florida but will now enroll in August allowing the Gamecocks and Buckeyes back into the mix. He wanted to who USC would hire as his the new Offensive Line Coach and appears pleased with Shawn Elliott at USC.

Is there a different set of criteria that pertains to prep school recruit or is it identical to that of a traditional high school recruit?

When is his decision expected?

He can go pro in two years (like Larry Fritzgerald), but retains four years eligibility to play at the college level.

Morgan can decide at any point where he wishes to enroll. I don't believe they are required to sign LOIs, since they typicall enroll as soon as they are able & qualified (versus high school students who usually wait 6 months after signing day).

Recruiting Rundown: Two Weeks to Signing Day
By Brandon Castel

...
According to GoGamecocks.com, Tressel had an in-home visit with offensive tackle Morgan Moses Monday, and he could be the backup plan if the Buckeyes are unable to land Henderson and/or James.

The 6-foot-7 tackle out of Richmond, Va. was a U.S. Army All-American last season who at one point was the highest-rated offensive lineman in the country according to Rivals. He later fell to No. 5 in their o-line rankings, but committed to Virginia without getting a written offer from Ohio State.

He did have offers from Alabama, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and Tennessee, but failed to qualify academically and ended up at Fork Union Military Academy, the same school as 2010 OSU commits Jamel Turner and Carlos Hyde.

Moses apparently completed the necessary school work to draw interest from Ohio State along with USC, Florida and North Carolina. According to GoGamecocks, Moses is scheduled to meet with USC offensive line coach Shawn Elliott later in the week.
