'09 VA OL Morgan Moses (Virginia Signee)

Kid sounds like a stud. Is he a just in case we don't get Seantrel sort of thing?....or are we looking at a nice set of bookends? If any one knows.

I don't think we can ever get too many kids like this, particularly since Fort Union's history seems to indicate that they work them up to a level of maturity that can be lacking in some hotshots.

I think Moses is the kind of kid you make room for...and I think the staff would like to close with an OL class of Henderson, Norwell and Moses/James. So this has ZERO to do with Henderson...

What did Fort Union ever do for us... other than give us that RB a few years back.. Eddie something... how did he turn out anyway?

If I remember right.. he didn't like the backfield much because he spent most of his time in the secondary

Henderson is a non-factor here. This is a numbers game and the staff can't afford to take just one OL this year. We need to continue to add depth or we are going to be right back where we were before. Even if we don't get Henderson or James, adding Moses is going to help.

A terrific prospect and more mature than your regular freshman would be.

As a comment on the way recruiting is heading. Things just get crazier and crazier with recruiting and the NCAA needs to clamp down on the whole football recruiting to not have a basketball type situation that is basically out of control. The horse could be out of the barn anyway but something must be done to protect all the parties involved.

I'll back this up 100%...I highly doubt we land all 4 (if we did, that would be absolutely sick), but this doesn't include Henderson. Unless something drastic happens, Henderson should be part of this class. Also, I've always thought Moses was better suited for the interior and James as well. It's forseeable for Norwell and Henderson to play tackle, with Moses and James at guard. One can dream.

Moses seems like a perfect fit to replace Justin Boren at LG.

I would like to see this line.

Henderson, Moses, Brewster, Adams, Shugarts

I assume you are talking about in two years when Boren and Browning graduate...

Replace Mike Adams with Marcus Hall at RG and that looks pretty good to me.

Regardless of how it shakes out, adding Moses into the mix along the line is full of win.

Boren and Browning are both seniors in 2010.

Agree with you about Hall, though. He plays somewhere on the line for sure...

Judging by all that is being said, JT's in home visit at Morgan's house could not have gone any better. Color me very excited about this one. It is likely between Virginia and tOSU at this point. Hopefully his good buddy, Carlos Hyde will be his host during the official in early Feb....would be sweet watching Carlos running behind Morgan in S&G!

I've only pasted in the comments directly related to Ohio State below. There's more at the link provided.

Mount Moses Coming To Columbus?
By Alex - January 22nd, 2010

...
When are you intending on finishing up at FUMA and enrolling at the college of your choice?
I?ll be enrolling in either March or May.

What schools are you looking at playing for? Is Virginia totally out of it now that Coach Groh is no longer there?
Virginia is still in it, but so is Ohio State, LSU, and Florida.

How was Coach Tressel?s recent visit? What did you think of him?
Coach Tress?s visit went real well. I believe he is an outstanding coach and man.

What is your relationship with Carlos Hyde and Jamel Turner?
Carlos and Jamel attended Fork Union and they are good people. Carlos came home with me everytime we got a break, so we chilled a lot.

Was Ohio State always a school that interested you?
Yeah, it always has interested me.

What can Buckeye fans expect from Morgan Moses if he ends up in Scarlet and Gray?
Hard work, a promise to give it all I?ve got, and somebody that?s going to bleed the school colors if you know what that means.

What's up everyone. Always some great discussion over here and I thought it was time to join the board.

I fully expect OSU to land Moses. All signs have been pointing that direction lately and the momentum seems to build each day. It's funny because so many of us were focused on just Henderson and James for the longest time and wondering what OSU would do if they missed out on both of them. And now one of the top OL from the '09 class (originally) literally fell in their lap thanks to his relationship with Hyde.
