'09 VA OL Morgan Moses (Virginia Signee)

Throw in Norwell (tOSU verbal) and that could be the coup of the Century in tOSU recruiting with three late verbals like that.

LT - Henderson
LG - Moses
RG - James
RT - Norwell

Man, that lineup would be all of our dreams! That would be some great depth at an area that has been a big weakness for us. I'd be happy with 3 of 4, but all would be an absolute dream!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. It's much appreciated.

I have the feeling that Henderson and James will go elsewhere (I feel a little bit better about Henderson than James) so landing Moses would be huge. Still wouldn't like only getting two OL in the class, but after back-to-back strong classes in 2008 and '09 when they signed a total of seven OL (3 in '08 and 4 in '09) I could certainly live with Norwell and Moses. Norwell might be a bit underrated. If he can return healthy, he's going to prove to be a nice find for OSU. There was a lot of hype about him before his injury -- Bill Kurelic loves him.

Moses May Head Back To Prep School
Written by Phil Kornblut
Posted on 01.25.10

OL Morgan Moses (6-7 320) of Richmond left Fork Union Prep, VA after the end of the first semester thinking his next stop would be college. But Moses has not been able to qualify to this point, and now he's considering returing to Fork Union where he can improve his overall academic situation and work to become qualified.

"I have a meeting with Moses and his parents Wednesday," said Fork Union coach John Shuman. "He could possibly be re-enrolling at Fork Union and finishing the job."

Because of his academic situation, Shuman said Moses might not sign on National Signing Day. He has taken official visits to USC, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia. He's also looking at LSU and Ohio State.

Shuman said he's not sure USC is in the hunt. "I haven't heard anything about South Carolina (with Moses) for a long time," Shuman said.

Spurrier will have last visit with Lattimore

...
OL Morgan Moses of Richmond, Va., met with Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel last week, and he was scheduled for a visit to Virginia over the weekend. Elliottt, USC's new OL coach, has been in touch with Moses as well and may try to see him this week. Florida also is involved. USC no longer is recruiting TE Mychal Rivera of The College of the Canyons JC in California. He was scheduled for an official visit to Tennessee over the weekend.

IMO, if FUMA is saying he has more work to do, then Moses has yet to qualify under NCAA stabdards. I doubt they would try to project how he would do with OSU admissions. Interesting strategy would be to try to get him to sign a NLOI and have him return to FUMA. The NLOI would still be binding and Moses could enroll in the fall, assumng he gets the work done.

Isn't the NCAA rule that you can only sign an LOI once? I'm pretty sure he signed with UVA then didn't qualify... So he wouldn't have to sign another LOI to attend a school, he would just have to enroll...

I think something like this happened with Xavier Henry this past basketball season... Signed with Memphis, was let out of it after Calipari bolted, then went to Kansas but didn't have to sign a LOI...

No one has to sign a NLOI, even a recruit coming right out of HS. It is purely an optional (but advisable) program. You cannot sign more than one NLOI in any given year, but I don't think there is a problem signing more than one in consecutive years. I will check.
