'09 VA OL Morgan Moses (Virginia Signee)

What's up everyone. Always some great discussion over here and I thought it was time to join the board.

I fully expect OSU to land Moses. All signs have been pointing that direction lately and the momentum seems to build each day. It's funny because so many of us were focused on just Henderson and James for the longest time and wondering what OSU would do if they missed out on both of them. And now one of the top OL from the '09 class (originally) literally fell in their lap thanks to his relationship with Hyde.

Thanks for the update Dave and welcome aboard...

Yea there is definitely always great discussion over here. I used to be on Scout and Bucknuts, but BuckeyePlanet is by far the best message board that anyone could be a part of. :osu: Welcome Mr. Biddle, it is great to have you.

Anyways, it is certainly looking like Moses is coming our way. Hyde couldn't help us on the field at Ohio State this year, but he did his work off the field both in the classroom and by (likely) bringing his friend Moses who was a top 50 player in the country last year and was offered by just about everyone.

Here's a good question...Who do you guys like better, James or Moses?

I think you have to go with Moses here, if only because he has a year on James. Moses of last year might have matched up well with James of this year, but that isn't what's being compared. Moses of last year has had another year to pack on weight, etc. When looking at a position like a lineman, where physical size is so important, the player who has an extra year is going to have the advantage. Almost like he took a redshirt for '09.

It is very hard to project O-linemen. Both have what it takes to have very good college careers....it is not a matter of whom we like more between Moses & James. We need quality depth at the line. If they are both interested in coming to tOSU, we take both. Period.

I never said we wouldn't, it was a question. I understand it's hard to project linemen but that doesn't mean you can't have an opinion. Obviously, having both of them would be really nice.

Great to have you Dave. Thanks for the info and I was actually thinking in retrospect about missing guys like Anderson, Joyner, Shaw, etc. and if it comes to pass that we land James, Henderson and Moses (not sure what the odds are), it could actually work in our favor that we missed some of those guys. I'll always take big talent in the trenches.

I would LOVE to have James, Moses, and Henderson. I say offer him, get him in for a visit, and take all three if they want in.

Throw in Norwell (tOSU verbal) and that could be the coup of the Century in tOSU recruiting with three late verbals like that.

LT - Henderson
LG - Moses
RG - James
RT - Norwell

Outstanding news! I really liked this kid last year and would be thrilled to see him S&G.

It's also wonderful to see the coaches pursuing such a large number of quality OL (Moses, Henderson, James & Green) so late in the season rather than putting all their eggs in a single basket.

I agree. I feel a lot more comfortable knowing that we have a good chance of at least bringing in 2 of those guys and maybe more. I was getting a little concerned about OL depth in this class before interest started picking up w/ Green and Moses in the last week.

I think it really hurt the quality and depth of our O-line a few years back (2007, I think) when they were only able to bring in 1 offensive lineman that year (Blankenship). You could see a dramatic drop off in the 2 deep these last few years. You need a couple every year regardless of what the depth chart looks like just so you don't end up replacing an entire O-line from the same class every year.
