Clemson picks up commitments; Fulton delays decision

...
USC offensive line coach Eric Wolford met with OL Morgan Moses of Richmond, Va., on Friday. Moses played this season at Fork Union Prep in Virginia and he finished his classes there on Thursday. He took the ACT on Saturday then left on an official visit to Florida. He has visited USC and Virginia and is looking at Louisiana State, UNC and Ohio State for possible visits.

Moses also met late last week with new Virginia head coach Mike London. He has been committed to the Cavaliers, but decided to check other options due to the coaching change there. Fork Union head coach John Shuman said last week Moses won't make a decision until he gets his score back on the ACT. Shuman also said last week that USC commitment DB Chris Payne has told him he plans to leave the school at the Christmas break and not return. Shuman said Payne is not yet in position to graduate from Fork Union, meaning he'd have to enroll at another school and graduate with the proper course credits to become eligible to play for the Gamecocks next season.

Recruiting: Moses still has Gamecocks in mind

WHEN USC LOST offensive line coach Eric Wolford to Youngstown State, it was thought that would be the end of the interest in the Gamecocks from offensive lineman Morgan Moses of Fork Union (Va.) Prep.

Wolford had handled most of the recruiting of Moses and had developed the closest relationship. But Moses said last week he is still considering USC despite Wolford's departure.

"I didn't drop them," he said. "I just have not heard from USC. I'm not mad. I understand it's a business."

Moses says he is down to Florida and Virginia but would reconsider the Gamecocks if they were to contact him. He says that the new offensive line coach would affect a decision.

"Yeah, I would definitely consider them, but it would depend on who they hire," he said.

Matt James to ND possible, Chaz Green a longshot, and passing on Quinton Spain I would imagine all contributed to this visit. We liked him a lot last year, but he couldn't make the grade.... and he liked us... a lot. Now that everything's sqaured away this does not surprise me at all. I would love this.

I think we get Henderson, which is why I didn't mention him... :wink2:

But with limited schollies left for this class, i think we might have to be realistic about the situation w/ Henderson. This late in the game, HEAD COACH himself is going to visit an OL prospect from previous class??
Now, back to Moses. I remember our interest was sincere but our effort was hinder due to the fact that Moses DID need a boost in his academic performance. A year later, a year older, a year wiser (hopefully), Moses at least has proved himself by going through prep school for a year and is now ready and qualify to pursue a college career. he has FINALLY earn himself the PRIVILEGE to become a college student-athlete. All power to Morgan.
Young man, keep working hard REGARDLESS of where you go. Although, it would be really nice to have a 330+ lb road grader up front plowing ways for our talented rb pool.
What position on OL is he projected at?

:osu2:

I think we can get up to 23 if need be. The number doesn't have to stop at 20. There can be more attrition. If guys like Hicks, Anderson, Henderson, James, Moses, Brown want in then there are ways to ensure that... but that's not for this thread.
