if he wants to go there let him go. If he cares about championships, he will come here. I do not think that coach is going to win any Big 10 championships any time soon. His "love" for a certain coach that keeps getting mentioned in that article worries me a bit

ROE CALL
Getting to know Delvon Roe
Thursday, November 30, 2006
School: St. Edward.
Sport: Basketball. Age: 17.
Year: Junior. Height: 6-8.
Weight: 220 to 225.
By the numbers: Averaged 19.3 points, 11.9 rebounds and 5.5 blocks last season.
Other sports: Roe gave up a promising baseball career as a sophomore to concentrate on basketball. He was a pitcher and a first baseman. Eagles basketball coach Eric Flannery said he had to hide Roe from Eagles football coach John Gibbons after Roe threw a football more than 70 yards during gym class.
Family: Describes his father, Delvon, a former multisport athlete for the East High Blue Bombers, his mother, Tracy, and coach Flannery as his inspirations. His sister, Delvonna Oliver, was a standout in basketball at Euclid High, furthered her athletic career at Maryland and played in the WNBA. Mom's favorite thing about her son: "That every day he never forgets to tell me how much he loves me."
An Ohio State moment: Roe said that Ohio State men's basketball coach Thad Matta showed up early at an AAU tournament in West Virginia this summer and said, "See, I'm here, and where are all of the other coaches?"
Learning from the best: In his young career, Roe has had the opportunity to play in summer open gyms with and against the game's premier player - LeBron James of the Cavaliers. He also has played summer ball with and against J.R. Smith of the Denver Nuggets. He said LeBron told him to keep his head on straight and kidded him about his choice of high schools, saying that if he wanted to wrestle, then go to St. Eds, but for basketball, he should have picked St. Vincent-St. Mary.
