08-09 Big Ten Basketball Season

Wisconsin lost 64-63 at home to Purdue, dropping them to 3-5 in conference play, good for 8th place. They're 12-8 so far this season.

Didn't Bernini lecture us about how UW was going to finish in the top-4 in the Big Ten because Bo Ryan does it every year (barring injuries/suspensions)? Not going to happen this year. And there's no injury/suspension excuse.

UW still has games @ MSU and @ Minnesota (likely losses) in addition to a couple tough home games (Illinois & OSU likely w/Lighty) and a couple other tough road games (PSU and NU) - I think they're going to go about .500 the rest of conference play ... would an 8-10 mark be enough to get the Badgers into the NCAA tourney? It'll be a close call. I don't think they can make it at 7-11 because they have only one quality nonconference win (@ VT) and 3 nonconference losses.

To be honest, I think Wisconsin is one of the surprise teams in the Big 10 this season. I never thought they would be this far down in the standings with the guys that they had returning from last year and they are always well coached. I would have never guessed it at the beginning of the season but they have lost some pretty tough games.

I agree. Both went beyond what was necessary with an intent to injure.

Novak and Hill sort of got into it on Turner's first free-throw. I remember Evan looking over to make sure things were cool. Then, Novak went REAL high with the elbow. At least a 1 game suspension. Fuck Michigan! :)

Krabbenhoft- leaned in and extended the arms to lay the player out. 1 game suspension.

I don't think Novak should be suspended but when you throw an elbow like Krabbenhoft did he might as well have thrown a punch. A guy running at full speed running into a guy's elbow could be pretty dangerous. Novak's really wasn't that dangerous and was handled appropriately by the officials.

A 1-game suspension would be enough
